Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

The jack probably rusted out from the water - could have been sitting in water for a while. That's my guess for why my car did not have a jack or spare in it.

Re: Headlight question

Pop up headlights only appeared in the first-gen bodied DOHC coupes, 91-96.

The hood and fenders were shaped to accommodate the squarish headlight cover. Retrofitting a 3rd gen car (2000 SL2)...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Nice find on the radiator - the welds look pretty decent, too. Got a new radiator as well so may never need one, but put it on my watchlist just in case

I moved my jack and spare from my 2nd gen...

I do...

Re: New clutch finally installed

Congrats on gittin' 'er done! :)

It's a good feeling knowing you have new parts in there.

Re: Water pump

I didn't' have an impact at the time. I had to remove the bumper cover and that gave me a little more room for the breaker bar. I was hitting it on and off for about 3~4 weeks before succeeding :D...

First, make sure both cables are tightly in the battery. Had one come loose and got some flickering lights in the instrument panel, dimming lights, etc.

Try flexing the positive cable a bit with...

Yep.

You only want the catch can / jar at the OUT (PCV) end of things

This has been on my to-do list for many years :)

Re: Ignition Lock Cylinder WIll Not Turn

That's something I don't have in my garage - ramps :D

Had a bad experience when I was younger - overshot a metal ramp. Don't recall the details, but I wasn't interested in ramps for a long time. ...

Re: Ignition Lock Cylinder WIll Not Turn

You don't have to remove the tire, but I find it is easier to reach the filter from the wheel well than underneath. There is even a removable access cover in the passenger wheel well (held on by a...

Re: Same old 99 SL2 oil burning problems

Where did you read about it? Only a few reviews on Amazon.

Have you changed oil since putting it in? Wondering if the effect will remain.

Re: Water pump

I didn't have too much of a problem any of the times I've removed the pulley. I used a long screwdriver between two of the bolts to lock it against something else while loosening the third one.
