Any issues with Sky Redline?

I currently have an 87 Firebird T/A, a 2004 Dodge Dakota, and a 2013 Dodge Caravan. The Caravan is rated to pull trailers up to 3500#s. California has gotten so bad with smog and G.M. has...

Re: Has anyone ever fitted a trailer hitch to a sky?

I know what you mean. The early Mustangs, Camaros, and Firebirds had the engine mounted way out over the front wheels putting over 60 of the weight on the front wheels. The second generation got a...

Re: Has anyone ever fitted a trailer hitch to a sky?

My Firebird is a 1987 with the ecm from a 1990-1992 speed density system on a tune port injection system with a custom chip. The difference between the mileage I get with it and the mileage you got...

Re: Has anyone ever fitted a trailer hitch to a sky?

Actually, I have pretty much decided against the Sky. The car is just too impractical, overpriced, and overweight to consider just for the sake of buying American. Why does a Sky weigh only 400...

Re: Canadian dealers-Buyout or Penske

I think you answered your own question when you said Penske is a smart businessman. I don't think Penske is looking at sales of 1000 cars per month and then writing off Canada as too small a market....

Re: Simple question: Saturn warrenties - Penske or GM?

Penske is taking over the entire Saturn parts inventory, as well as the marketing of the current Saturn models and those that G.M. will continue to produce for the brand. Does it matter if Penske or...

Re: Saturn Likely to Return its to Its Roots of a Lower-End, Competitive-Priced Car C

I would not jump to a lot of conclusions about the fate of the Astra. It is not built in America; and from what I've read, Opel will probably no longer be a G.M. brand by the time everything shakes...

Re: Saturn and "New Business Partner"

The biggest problem I've heard of with Mitsubishi is weak transmissions. There may be other problems that I'm not aware of. Partnering with Saturn could result in Saturn's survival as well as...

Re: 2008 Redline MANY, MANY ISSUES

I have owned more cars than I can remember since I bought my first one 40 years ago. The most unreliable car I've ever owned was an MGA, but it was my first car, and I paid $500.00 for it so it was...

Re: Zippy Saturn Sky Deserves to Survive GM Woes

I don't think spare parts will be a problem even if G.M. folds up completely. Studebaker went out of the car business in the mid 1960's and I've read that virtually all of the parts are still...

Re: White House Gives GM 60 Days to Restructure

Buick is the #1 selling vehicle in the world's largest market! Saturn is sold only in the U.S. and Canada and has never been profitable. The new G.M. will consist of GMC, Cadillac, Buick, &...

Re: Saturn has interested buyers, GM says

At this point survival probably has a lot less to do with product than it does with the rest of the economy. If people don't buy cars, it doesn't matter what G.M. produces. Right now it does not...

Re: I don't get it, why so few Skys on the road?

I just have to make a correction to this post. The Sunbeam Tiger never had a 2.6 liter v8. The first ones came out with the 260 cubic inch Ford that was in the original Mustang and Falcon. When...

Re: I don't get it, why so few Skys on the road?

I see quite a few Sky's on the road in So Cal, but not generally in the freeways that would be used for a daily commute. Most often I see them on the 15 heading toward Cajon Pass, or the 5 heading...

Re: Has anyone ever fitted a trailer hitch to a sky?

I have the best of both worlds. It is a Friebird powered by a 350 V8 that gets 23 mpg on the highway. I think I've figured out how to get the mileage up to 25 or 26 mpg. It is just a little bit...

Re: Save Saturn petition

I don't think it makes any difference whether GM, Chrysler, or Ford deserve to be bailed out or not. We are now in the midst of the worst economy in terms of unemployment since 1930!!! Maybe...

Re: Report: With Retailer Support, Saturn Could Return to its Roots and Get Another L

I think that if Saturn builds only small cars, they will end up as they began with something like a huge satisfaction rating among owners with 90% saying they won't buy another one because they...

Re: Save Saturn petition

Having already been through a failed petition attempt to get GM to save the f-body, Camaro & Firebird to those not familiar with GM's production codes, I can tell you that letter writing and...

Re: Has anyone ever fitted a trailer hitch to a sky?

I don't know what the owner's manual says about towing, I don't own a Sky. I like small sports cars, but I like to take long trips in them, preferably on back roads rather than interstates. I took...

Re: Report: GM Is Considering Selling Saab, Pontiac, Saturn

If GM consolidates some of their divisions, it probably won't make a lot of difference except to their costs. Each division eliminated reduces the cost of doing business, and with dealerships going...

Re: Are we down to 432 now?

The issue isn't really the number of dealer so much as location. A dealer who owns 2 dealerships within 15 minute to 1/2 hour of each other closes one store doesn't really cause much inconvenience...

Re: buy one car get one free

It is probably a legitimate offer. Right now Dodge dealers are still adding thousands of $ to the list price of Challengers because it is the latest thing on the market and they think there are...

It is not just GM. We are in the position to be just like the UK within 2 years. There are still a few automotive factories in the UK, but I think the only one that is still British owned and...

Re: GM might eliminate SATURN brand

I think you are right Charlie. Unfortunately, I don't think any body in power at GM has a clue why people will buy a car from one dealer and not another. I would hate to lose Saturn because my...

Re: what IS wrong with GM

Product line is not the issue right now. The companies with enough cash reserves to weather 2 years of sales levels "in the toilet" have a chance to design and manufacture cars that will appeal to...
