Re: 2004 Vue Door Bound Up

I went through several latches in the life of my 2002 VUE - for similar things.

The latch assembly is about $50, and once you take the door panel off and pull back the vapor barrier (be careful,...

Re: possible clutch hydraulics problem...

When my clutch master cylinder was going out, I had some of these symptoms.

The slave cylinder on these transmissions is internal, and it can leak internally, as well - something to keep in mind.

Re: cooling fan only runs in high

Do you mean engine cooling fan, or interior cooling fan?

If your engine cooling fan is what is affected - your blower motor resistor has most likely failed. Search on here - it's been a while...

Re: 2006 Saturn Vue coolant light

Did any of the plugs look cleaner than the others? Like, almost steam cleaned clean?

Re: Is My Vue Abnormally Slow??

My old commute was 2.4 miles and took on average 20 minutes. My record was 48 minutes.

My new commute is 15 miles and takes about the same amount of time - all highway though.

Re: Is My Vue Abnormally Slow??

With the 4 speed auto, it should be dropping down about that low.

The low ratio of 5th in the manual is purposeful - it is getting the Ecotec closer to the bottom of the torque peak. If 5th were a...

Re: Is My Vue Abnormally Slow??

The Ecotec is far from junk... you have the most robust and troublefree powertrain that you can get in the VUE, hands down.

You have unreasonable expectations of 143HP/155TQ + 4 hydraulically...

Re: Regretting Buying My Vue

The 4 cylinder/5 speed is a perfectly fine tow vehicle. Mine spent a good part of its life with up to 2,000 lbs hitched behind it - with a VUE, the brakes are the weakness with towing. The 4...

Re: Regretting Buying My Vue

Also, stop trying to keep it under 3,000 RPM. The torque peak of the Ecotec is at 4,200 RPM - let it actually get into the powerband. It's also going to be more economical getting to speed quickly...

Re: My "new" 2004 VUE

The main indicator when things were going south with mine was an uncomfortable jiggling feeling in the front suspension that could be felt through the floorboard and steering wheel when hitting...

Re: My "new" 2004 VUE

For what it's worth, Grumpy - it almost seems like you have lucked out.

In 9 years of ownership, I did 2 sets of strut mounts, 2 sets of swaybar links and an entire round of front suspension...

Re: 02 Vue

Yep. The VTi was delayed initially.

In 2002, you could get a 4 cylinder FWD Manual or a V6 AWD Automatic. To bolster sales of the FWD4, Saturn brought out the Sport Plus package. This was a FWD4m...

Re: 02 Vue

If it is a 2002 4 cylinder with a VTi, it is a very, very rare VUE. Only towards the tail end of 2002 production were they available, and only in AWD form.

Re: 02 Vue

Most likely a swaybar end link. They aren't that expensive to replace, thankfully.

The suspension on the VUE is quite frankly a bit of a dumpster fire. If you have it for a while, plan on...

Re: First problem in 4 years of ownership

Additionally, don't drive it if the SES light is flashing. You can do irreparable damage to the catalytic convertor if you do in a relatively short amount of time.

Re: Totaled?

From the looks of it I would say it is a goner. Glad to hear you are okay though - the car did its job.

I'm not sure I would want it to be fixed if I were in your shoes. That is a hell of a lot of...

Re: DRL Question

I'd wonder if there is the chance that pulling the bulb will cause a wrench light though?

Re: Cvt trans?

Because you're spending money on something with a guaranteed failure rate.

If you look at the amount of time spent swapping, plus the cost of the trans and the vehicle, plus whatever else the VUE...

Re: OEM Push bar???

Just be warned that the brush guard is cosmetic only, as the mounts are not load bearing. If you bump something with it, it will bend backwards and do more damage to the front fascia than a simple...

Re: What happens when a VUE flips over at 100mph?

I've had the C to about 125 once... it felt very buttoned down, partly due to the fact that it weighs as much as a small house.

It's built to run those speeds though - which helps. It's not...
