Re: Strange problem

The VCIM is OnStar. Disconnect power to it and you should be able to put the fuse back in to power everything else. Some years ago in another forum here, a member posted the same problem. Someone...

Re: transmission fluid and coolant mixing?

Service manuals describe a condition of motor oil (possibly including xmission oil) inadvertently mixing with engine coolant - in the event motor oil mixes with engine coolant, flush the cooling...

Re: Steering Wheel Nut Size - Series

GM parts online doesn't list it. A different search seems to show this as ACDELCO part# 11609658 - M14x1.5 from carid.com: https://www.carid.com/acdelco/m14x1-5-steering-wheel-nut-mpn-11609658.html....

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

Thoe small torx bolts for the intake runners bolt down solid aluminum, not hollow parts. No leak in any of those bolt holes missing torx bolts. If you can find replacements in a junk yard, fine,...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

The flex coupler between the maf sensor assembly and throttle is crucial to the EFI system since all airflow must go thru the maf sensor first. All airflow is measured thru the mass airflow sensor....

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

Review edited image. The flexible plastic couplers should not have any damage, cracks, allowing vacuum leaks. The important one is between the maf sensor housing and throttle actuator. If damaged,...

If I'm not mistaken, the snapshots from under the rear center intake manifold with two oil lines is the oil cooler assembly. The oil cooler is a miniature radiator immersed in engine coolant...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

I'm at a loss for the 5 psi drop. I'm more concerned of a dramatic drop off in pressure when the engine stops.

Leaving the O2 sensors removed shouldn't interfere with continued troubleshooting....

Ok, both upper O2 sensors removed didn't have any effect. Unless another member disagrees, put both sensors back on the engine. The catcons aren't clogged.

There seems to be two things left that...

The two upper O2 sensors are removed for testing blocked catcons. One sensor on each side of the two intake runners.

Are you stating the front sensors, one upper and one lower were removed?

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

The suggestion to remove the (upper) two O2 sensors by 02 LW300 may be the problem. Removing the lower two sensors wasn't necessary. 30 seconds of engine running is a vast improvement.

That drawing is incorrect for our L300s. Look at your engine. The central intake manifold with lettering 'TWIN CAM 3.0L V6' over white paint. The two intake runners connected to the central intake...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

I don't think any pump damage occurred. Fuel pressure regulation restricts L300s to 49 psi. The fuel pump is rated for higher pressures. Mechanical engineering designs for safety and reliability with...

Yes. Seeing the gauge with pressure should also not change at all in a few minutes. In the two minutes of observing pressure, the needle dropped. This indicates fuel is either moving back to the...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

You may have two issues - lower than normal fuel pressure and worn out fuel test valve stem. This complicates troubleshooting somewhat.

Leave the fuel pressure gauge connected. Do not remove it...

Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Won't stay running after a breakdown and bad...

As I mentioned previously, pumping the gas pedal does absolutely nothing. Our L300s are all electronically controlled. You cannot 'pump' fuel into the engine no matter how many times the gas pedal is...
