Re: Noise coming from under dash

He didn't buy one, he used a 3D printer and printed one. I believe the design is out there on the web for anyone to download and use a 3D printer to manufacture on your own (or a friend). You'd...

Re: Ignition Lock Cylinder Will Not Turn

This lock cylinder issue is pretty common on GM vehicles and is caused dirt and metal dust from repeated key insertions. The electrical cleaner flushes out the dirt and grime and evaporates pretty...

If you go to https://www.compnine.com/vid.php and enter your VIN number it will look it up and give you a build date and an option to buy a build sheet. Here is what it looks like for my 99 SL2...

Re: Ignition Lock Cylinder WIll Not Turn

Flush out the lock cylinder with CRC Electrical Cleaner until the waste fluid becomes clear. It'll flow from the bottom of the steering wheel shroud so have a tray on your lap to catch it. Next,...

Re: 2001 SL1 BCM into 2000 SL1

So if the wire harness to BCM connectors match then it's a go; if they do not match then it's a no go unless the wire harness is moved over. Correct? Anybody know if they changed from 2000 to 2001?...

Re: Problem areas to look for when buying an Astra

Thanks eric08. You've given me something to consider.

Dexcool sludge seems to stick to the reservoir and is dull orange from the photos I've seen. What I saw was just a light skim of oil...

Re: 2001 SL1 BCM into 2000 SL1

My 99 SL2 VIN in the PCM doesn't match what's plated on the car. This hasn't created any issues for me. If you recall I moved and engine over from a parts car including the wiring harness and the...

Re: Oil filter cross reference and compatibility?

That's why I mentioned Neon with the 2.4 litre DOHC. It has the longer version as well; same one in the 1995 Ford Taurus 3.0 DOHC.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

If the radio is powered by a stock circuit then there is a flaw in this thinking. The proper way is to run fused power from the UHJB (or battery) and use a switched relay to control it. Check out...

Re: 2002 SL1 5spd 237k - no start, power ok

Yes that changes things for sure. Bypass the clutch safety switch by unplugging it and inserting a jumper wire in the socket as mentioned. If the starter engages then this is likely your problem. ...

Re: Water leak in passenger area SC2

If you are making a new gasket the material used needs to be closed cell foam. After all, It's not supposed to allow water through.

Re: 2002 SL1 5spd 237k - no start, power ok

The clutch safety switch only allows power from the ignition to activate the starter and wouldn't cut power to a running engine or other components. As Waiex191 suggests, I'd be looking at your...
