Re: Clutch safety switch fun!

I'm on a diet. Coffee works for me! Actually it was interesting to hear of an instance where the clutch switch connector did fail.

Re: (SL1 99) Installing new sway bar. Can just 1 control arm come off or both?

I put mine on with both control arms on and the swaybar mount off. My subframe was off at the time. I think if you had the car jacked up high enough you should be able to get it in. Just be careful,...

Re: Missing 94 SL found in Lake with deceased driver

I saw the headline, but didn't realize it was a Saturn. Sad on several levels, but good to get closure too.

Re: Which oil for engine break in?

I forget about how clean the oil stayed after rebuild. That was cool. I debated doing a 5 or 500 mile oil change and decided that is what the filter is for.

Re: New Lock Cylinder

Somewhere there is a post here where it tells you how to measure the key, and determine if each position is a 1, 2, 3, or 4.

Re: Which oil for engine break in?

I used Castrol 5W-30 and changed it at 3000 miles, IIRC.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Interesting - I must have gotten a non-Saturn jack out of the SW2 at LKQ. How do all these people lose their jacks?

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

That's awesome. Almost makes me wish my OEM radiators would leak so I could get it. Let us know how it works out.

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

That looks like my '98 setup in the trunk. But, there is no hole in the jack for the white headed wing bolt to sneak through and engage the threads. Are wagon jacks different than coupes and sedans?

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

So as mentioned in the other thread, I put a new temporary spare on my rim today. My intention was to mount my jack. When I bought the car, it had a non-Saturn jack. I got one at LKQ from a Gen 3...

Re: Where to purchase T115/70R14 compact spare tire?

I had another tire go in my '98 SC2. So I bought another Kuhomo like I linked to above. I once again used my motorcycle tire irons. As shipped from tire rack:...

Re: Battery light on, erratic shifting

You seem to have a large short somewhere. How is the positive battery terminal? Any shorts from worn insulation either to the UHJB or starter? Is there a large amp draw with ignition on but not...

Re: 96 SC2 bringing it back to life (slowly)

Nice! My oldest brought the Saturn to college. We have too many cars in the driveway! It will get a lot less miles the next few years.

Re: 98 SC2 project. Drive for now, maybe rebuild later.

I bought this car about 17 months ago for $500. While driving home, I was accelerating WOT in third gear and 5000 RPM when I rolled my 10,000th mile. I've got about 172,600+ on it. I've been over...

Re: Water pump

I just used a breaker bar. If you are up high enough on jackstands, no problem. Does not have to be crazy high.
