Re: how many miles do you have on your saturn?

1997 Saturn SL which I bought new, now has 219,000 miles. Burns a quart of oil every 1000 miles. I used rustoleum paint on the A frame to slow down the rust. I think the rust will kill the car before...

Thank you for your help. I remember that the fuel pump inside the gas tank was replaced under a recall campaign. The EGR valve is cleaned regularly with the throttle body at regular intervals. The...

Bucking on acceleration

I own a 1997 Saturn SL with 218,000 miles on the odometer. Burns about 1 quart of oil over 1500 miles. This problem occurs when the motor is warm. If I accelerate slowly there is no bucking....

Re: clunking noise in front end

Thanks for your replies. I did not replace the top strut mounts when I bought the new KYB struts. The lower ball joints are the original ones that came with the car. I will check for play in the...

Re: burning an unusual amount of gasoline

I have been noticing the same issue. I drive a 1997 saturn SL with 203,000miles and has the original thermostat. My temperature gauge reads just a hair over 1/4. I flushed my heater core in the fall...

Re: P0404 code AFTER engine cleaning

I believe that error code refers to the operation of the EGR valve. (exhaust gas recirculation valve). My car had a little over 36,000miles when the Saturn dealer recommended replacing the EGR...

Re: High RPMs

I don't know if your car operates the same as mine. The IACV (idle air control valve) could need cleaning. On my car it is a solenoid valve that moves a pintol. That pintol can get gummed up with...

Re: Going from a 99 SL2 to a 2010 Civic - Your thoughts?

I have been a Saturn owner one year before buying a Honda civic. I own a 1997 Saturn SL 196,000 miles and my wife drives a 1998 Honda civic 241,000 miles. If the civic has a timing belt like mine...

Re: Blower non-functional

If the blower motor does not turn on- I would start by checking for a blown fuse. Easiest to check. Then I would check for current at the electrical connections at the blower motor itself. If there...

Re: 100,000 Mile tune up

I tend to be very conservative about replacing parts simply because of milage,
evaluating the down side to keep...

Re: 2001 SL1 1.9L SOHC P0300/P0341 Misfires

I would suspect the spark plugs/ ignition wires/ or the ICM loosing its ground or failing intermitantly.
