Re: Rear brake caliper bracket bolt spec

It's smaller than the front bolt, I don't remember how different it is from the rear wheel bearing bolts.

I found a couple options, not sure which you need.

Re: Radiators: anyone tried a fully welded alum ebay radiator?

I'm not sure I agree on AMR's pricing for their aluminum radiator...but from the build pics they've shown of it it's worth the cost ($300 IIRC) if your car isn't going to rust out in a year like they...

Re: Anybody have experience doing rear brakes on SL2s?

The adjuster almost can't be adjusted while the drum is installed so don't worry about aligning it to the hole (they put the hole in the wrong spot).

Full guide with an embeded Richpin video:...

Re: Anybody have a good guide for replacing the rear hub assembly on a 2001 SL2?

The only difference in the knuckles is '91-'97's have the option of rear disc while '98-'02 do not. The one in 00_sl1's picture has the eyes for mounting the rear disc caliper and can't be from a...

Re: found a RichPin floor jack demo video

Samcrac could have used a Richpin video before spending all day with his 'Vette jacked to the moon and no way to get it down "because Harbor Freight jacks are crap"...lmao...

Re: Surging and very high compression

First: verify the gauge reads properly either on another car or an air compressor.
Second: verify the test was done properly with a fully charged battery and a brick on the gas pedal (to block the...

Re: Daytime running lights not on anymore

If the DRL bulb isn't lighting up and the SERVICE (Wrench) light is on, I'd start by pulling the cluster out and replacing the blown DRL bulb.

SERVICE (Wrench) codes require a more advanced...

Re: Telescoping wheel?

Can you tell where it's "telescoping" from?
If it's only the steering wheel, I'd pull the airbag and check the lone nut that holds the wheel to the column.
There's 2 more bolts that hold the column...

Re: Check engine light

Yes, I'd check for blown fuse's when the EGR valve has a vacuum leak too. No way would I replace the EGR valve with one that doesn't leak.

I also wouldn't retest the solenoid with the engine hot...

Re: New replacement key app (newer cars only).

Anyone can take a photo of ANY KEY and 3D print it. Heck, with the photo you can find the pinning of it with a $10/mo subscription and have any locksmith make you a key (or...print it out and overlay...

Re: More cooling fan issues

What position on the gauge are you expecting the fan to turn on at?
1st gen is just before the red marks
2nd gen is about the 3/4 mark
3rd gen is just past 1/2

It's all 222f +/- 5f.

Re: Joining 2 pipes, exhaust

"Could" you find it there? Maybe...no idea what a general hardware store would have for exhaust size pipe.

I believe this is close, though not exactly, what you need:...

Re: Joining 2 pipes, exhaust

They make reducer pipes, though slightly odd ones like 3" down/up to 2" may be hard to find pre-made.

Re: Can I use ABS MASTER CYLINDER in NON-ABS SW2 ?

Orienting the hose's is VERY complicated :dizzy:

If they look like a teacup handle (or any human going "bawk bawk bawk") they're going to die....if they're hidden then they're safe.

Re: Can I use ABS MASTER CYLINDER in NON-ABS SW2 ?

The ABS MC is only drilled and tapped for 2 lines, the non ABS MC is drilled and tapped for 4 lines. Should be an easy fix with the correct t-taps and attaching the lines correctly but the added time...

Re: Headliner Colors

Personally I'd use black(ish) no matter what color it started out as :D

Assuming you want to keep the stock look rather than "upgrading" I'd say M1808-Oxford Grey or M2208-Quartz are the closest...

Re: More cooling fan issues

Take a shortish piece of 14ga wire and jump pin 30 to 87 on the fan relay socket. Strip both ends of the wire as if you were going to put connectors on it, then just shove 'em in. Pin 30 has battery...

Re: Moaning/humming sound coming from front end while cornering

Best guess for install, leave the clear plastic cover thingy off until after the test drive so you can adjust on the side of the road.

It's a good idea to use something...

Re: weird batch of symptoms and confusion

Why bother testing anything....just put the battery cables back on. Might even have to get new nuts for the studs on the starter if they backed off far enough.
