Re: 1st Gear Torque Limitation - Bypass

Eh, maybe disregard this. I was thinking this might be feasible given the manual valve position would block pressure flow to the reverse clutches, but it looks like this transmission has no manual...

1st Gear Torque Limitation - Bypass

I like the way the '06-'07 Vues drive with respect to the lock-up schedule and shift schedule. Its more direct and fuel efficient compared to the earlier years and the Redline top speed is also...

Rear Disc Swap

Well I'm still dicking around with the Vue Redline. It's been a nice tow vehicle and keeps the miles down on my nicer vehicle.

I've been wanting to improve the braking a bit and will likely be...

Wagon Seat-back Skin Swap

I'm curious as to whether I can swap a Sedan rear seat skin onto a Wagon seat frame. Anyone try this in the past?

Re: 2000 SL2 Wagon Build & Questions

1. Swap in a manual for better MPG, performance, and being able to ignore needing to cool the trans.

2. Keep stock rotors/drums and throw some Hawk HPS pads up front.

3. Not sure why you'd...

Re: More of my dumb research...

It's alright to daydream about turbocharging or electrifying your vehicle, but in reality your better off leaving the powertrain stock and figuring out the limitations from there.

As far as your...

Re: More of my dumb research...

I would start by finding a cheap Saturn that you can perform maintenance on and enjoy that as a beginning of your driving experience.

An SL2 or SC2 with 124hp and a 5 speed manual will be plenty...

Re: Anybody sell a rubber tow hitch cap?

That would be a nice thing to have. I'll try to poke around after work and find a source for these. The fallback option would be to get a Honda one to match the engine/trans.

Way to take the noob approach with your response. Changes between 1-2 model years could be the difference between Poor/Marginal ratings changing to Good in one category.

Case in point, the 2013...

lol. These are not safe cars, especially by today's standards.

Ignore "crumpling" and focus on whether the cabin structure had been compromised or if the impact caused the firewall/frame to...

Re: Engine Swap Advice (2002-2001 SC2-1)

Sure, revving a stock motor past the set redline doesn't net any power benefits in a stock application, but for circle track racers and individuals with performance cams, there is a benefit to...

Re: Engine Swap Advice (2002-2001 SC2-1)

Have you ever tried to perform the PCM Passlock/mating procedure on a car before? I feel, as usual, you are commenting on something you don't have experience with.

There is no issue with mating...

Re: Engine Swap Advice (2002-2001 SC2-1)

There's no need to change the BCMs. The SC2 BCM will mate fine with the SC1 PCM.

Re: Engine Swap Advice (2002-2001 SC2-1)

Not sure...
