Re: 2.2l starter and cables replaced, still have issue... flywheel?

Update:

Been doing fine except recently every once in a while it will give one crank then quit. I try again and it cranks and starts fine. Hope it isn't the same failure mode all over again.

Re: 2003 Vue Bearing Replacements... PLURAL!!!

I've had mine since 183k mi now have 251k. Replaced the left front twice now.

First was probably an off brand, don't remember, but it only lasted 10k or so. Second one was a Raybestos branded...

Re: low rpm misfire

Looks like youknowme hasn't posted on the forum for a year so I doubt they will respond.

Most recently I had a random misfire situation that turned out to be just the ICM plug wasn't fully seated....

Re: Bad ball bearing type noise in 2.2l top end?

It's only been a couple years that I've had the vue. I've managed to put 20-25k mi on it each year. Having difficulties recalling the details of the stuff the PO replaced though as there were other...

Bad ball bearing type noise in 2.2l top end?

On cold startup I've been getting some noises that sound like a bearing going out.

Sounds gravely like chattering worn out ball bearing then you will hear a shrill chirp as if the shaft catches an...

Re: 2.2l starter and cables replaced, still have issue... flywheel?

After replacing the starter again with the new AC Delco unit all is well currently.

Only time will tell if the issue will slowly come back like the previous cases.

Re: 2.2l starter and cables replaced, still have issue... flywheel?

Yes.. well the first time around I tried on the original starter before the replacement. I saw little crackles in the exposed braided power cable going to the starter but nothing else happened so by...

Re: Engine malfunctioning w/ Indicator, nothing's working

Is the code for a "random" misfire or specific cylinders? If specific cylinders, I find the vast majority of time it is an ignition coil going bad. looks like those 3.5L v6 (actually a Honda...

Re: 2006 vue 2.2 no spark

Yep I've had one of the ground wires only held on to the terminal with corrosion. Fortunately for me the engine would start but die if the wiring harness was disturbed so it was easier for me to...

Re: 2.2l starter and cables replaced, still have issue... flywheel?

Well it finally went out Friday. Last time it started on it's own it I had to move the car 5 times or so and it eventually kicked in. Stopped to have a drink with coworkers and had to be push...

Re: 2.2l starter and cables replaced, still have issue... flywheel?

Well I replaced the cables myself and didn't see a reason to doubt the connections.

I am having no other issues currently in an electrical sense. Also it never acts like it is struggling to...

Re: 2.2l starter and cables replaced, still have issue... flywheel?

I guess it could be cheap starters failing early, but I'm loth to spend good money only to have the same thing happen. It just seems odd they are failing the exact same way the factory one did.

2.2l starter and cables replaced, still have issue... flywheel?

2.2l 5speed with ~236k mi.

Started getting a no start no crank issue. Would just get click from under the hood. Often times I could just try turning the key again and it would start.. or after a...

Re: No start, no spark

Also there is a small ground terminal on the engine a little higher up the engine above the crank sensor that goes back into the loom. The wire can corrode enough to be "connected" to the terminal...

Re: Replaced battery cables, now no start

Thanks for the ideas guys. Turned out to be the crank position sensor wire. it had worn through and me moving around the wires down there must have snapped the last few strands still hanging on. I...

Replaced battery cables, now no start

I went through 2 starters and now the third started showing early symptoms of going out that the others did (random no, or partial, crank) so I thought it is time for new battery cables. Just got em...

Re: V5 hitch?

Class 1 and 2 are 1 1/4"

Class 3+ are 2"

You sure it was a class 5?

Probably half the aftermarket receivers for the vue are class 3-4, 2".

It's more of a preference thing as you can...

Re: Performance Exhaust Ideas

Forced induction is pre-compression, which adds (or multiplies) to cylinder compression... To get an idea how much, you must compare to ambient pressure. 0psi on your gauge is actually about 14.7psi...

Re: Performance Exhaust Ideas

Being in Ohio we don't have such inspections so I don't know quite the extent you guys can go..

I'm sure there isn't anything readily available direct-fit as an upgrade.. only OE spec stuff.

Re: 2004 Saturn VUE AWD 3.5L - tires optional sizes??

Also If you go too large (too tall or too wide or a combination of both) it can begin touching the fender, inner frame, and/or strut spring perch. Some can be worked around, but it really depends on...

Re: 2004 Saturn VUE AWD 3.5L - tires optional sizes??

There isn't really an issue with transmission. Technically it will not feel quite as peppy the taller the tire is, requiring more torque to get the same acceleration.
