if it is the rear main, i would check crankshaft end play before installing a new seal, as a bad thrust bearing will cause the seal to leak again, worn thrust bearing are more common on the 5 speed

i am a certified saturn mechanic and can say gm in general does not reccommend any type of stop leak for any car system... coolant is vital to engine cooling and i have seen stop leak clog rediators...

just because there isnt oil on the driveway dosent mean there isnt a leak, for a car with high mileage to burn oil isnt uncommon albeit the 2.2 is a fairly strong reliable motor. id check for leaks...
