Ehhhh... maybe I'll just stick with the 850CCA battery I currently have... I was thinking more of the smaller types for just stabilizing energy flow then just all out replacing the battery.

Well on the plus side I have the side brake lights for now, carpet on one side removed to my disgust, and a tangle of wires I shall take care of on some other day....

On a whim I decided to unplug the center lights after finding a splice for it and the tail lights are running on a 2.5amp fuse (thank God for LEDs).

Ripped/cut out the entire driver side carpet,...

Orange-blue x2 has voltage
Orange-blacks x2 has voltage

So which isn't supposed to be making a connection?

Put in a new fuse checked voltage and it was 15.5v, battery is the same, with the vehicle off.

The new switch popped the fuse.

Ideas?

Rebuilts are pretty hit and miss nowadays, had 3 bad one in a row working on 05 chevy duramax, and working 5ft of extensions from the transmission through the grill with a breaker bar is not fun you...

Check the diesel chevy cruze then, 65mpg avg on highway was attained, but this was in the desert side of California on pretty level surface of road in the middle of summer.

But hell 50mpg average...

Bit of necro bump, But as long as the vehicle has an alternator and a manual transmission you will lose your dash and a few other electronics (3rd gen uses a BCM so you might get to keep gauges), so...

So with tail lights removed and brake switch removed, no short With tail lights and no brake switch, no short.

As soon as I plug the brake switch in, short and a fuse goes pop.

Got 14v to from a brown wire going to the switch, and I believe it is grounded too from the mounting bracket.


Brown does 14v to all wires except orange. And orange wire seems dead.

Center and corners won't illuminate with pedal pressed, but all other light functions work, including parking lights.

Bad brake switch? Checked fuses, all good.

I have the same issue as well, when cold it will start up fine and run normally, even if I go on a trip and start it up in the next hour.

However if on a hot day or it just sits the sun the engine...

Rear is to be adjusted before adjusting front, also rear is camber and toe adjustable, same as front end. You will need to give the shop this information, saturn also has required alignment settings...
