Re: New 07 vue 2.2

If it goes away after the car warms up then its probably related to the exhaust manifold. I had that issue and it was a snapped bolt holding the manifold. Once the car warmed up, it went away.

Re: Planning to buy Saturn Vue.......

Don't overlook the 4 cylinder Vues. The 4's are super reliable and easy to work on. I'm still driving my 2004 L with 180 k and my daughter has my wife's 2005 Vue with 120k. Both going strong. My...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

I'm sad to report the transmission seems to have given up the ghost. It bled out and now does not move. I was going to call a junk dealer and have it towed away then I thought if someone wants to...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

I think I solved the mystery of the upside down horn relay. As I said I fixed the horn. I didnt mention it was a weak horn sound. I figured a horn that didnt work for how many years would have built...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

Actually I think your screen shot says it quite clearly in section 5 in the "Important" note. And your screenshot doesnt specify passenger or driver. It just says "strut".

You just need to...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

As I have actually installed a strut backwards I'm probably the resident expert on this. The key is the "half round notch must point to the front when in the spring compressor tool". My brain read...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

So I fixed the horn. Bought a horn relay from Rock auto because for 13 bucks it seemed like the easiest thing to try. So I go to put it in and I see itís the same relay as the DRL but its upside...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

I finally broke down and went to Chevrolet and bought the BCM and had them program it. While the odometer not working was annoying it was the lack of a horn that was just too much. You just cant...

Re: Passenger Carpet Soaked With Water

I just had this problem and it was the door. It was bent. the glass shop pulled up the plastic door strip in the front and the fuse cover to pull the carpet back. He ran a hose on the windshield...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

Busy summer so not much got done on the "new" L. I fixed the water leak. Yea, the car had a constant smell of "hay". maybe it was mildew but it reminded me of hay. Since the AC didn't work, that...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

thanks for the link. These guys (Jimmy and John) have been very helpful. As I now (again) have 3 saturns and they are over 10 years old I'm like a kid in a candy store.

since completing the...

Re: Mystery: Service wrench + transmission?

here's two cheap and (semi) easy things to check. Whenever I've had my transmission oil changed, the shops and not put enough oil back in. They did do not follow the procedure for refilling( and it...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

You are so right. Without the screw holding the drum, it was a serious PITA. I didn't realize it but one side had the screw and the other didn't. I figured I would check both sides before...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

New struts, new Continental tires, and front brakes have made quite the difference. The back brakes however have thrown me for a loop. They have a little bolt to hold the drum on. I've never seen...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

Thanks for the reply. I thought that might have been the reason but I had bought some monroes a few years ago and one of them had a visible 'burr' on the shaft (not the nut) so I assumed it a...

Re: Quick Struts

The monroes seem a bit noisy. And one of the strut to body studs wasn't pressed in one of the strut . It was rolling around in the box. I pressed it in with a C clamp. I would have rather bought...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

I've got the struts completely off the car. ...

Re: Quick Struts

Okay, I did it. I bought the Monroe quick strut from Rockauto. the $120 was too much to ignore so I put the 3.5L quick strut on my 2.2L Vue. To the untrained eye, there is no difference. To the...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

thanks. that's what I figured but my "figuring" tends to break tabs and clips. I also took Fdryer's advice and googled it. I was getting no where with "brake hose clip" until I added "+...

Re: Quick Struts

so I got through to the Monroe help line. The tech's "guess" the spring is stronger for the 3.5L vs the 2.2. He thinks it might make the Vue ride higher if I put the Monroe 'quick strut' on it. Now...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

I did find a number of threads on the issue. Its slowly dawning on me that I'll be going to the dealer to fix it. I was holding out hope that wire to the BCM was shorted but that was quickly dashed....

Re: Quick Struts

Here's a head scratcher. I'm looking for struts for my son's 2005 2.2 Vue. I was overjoyed that I can now buy a quick strut for it. The problem is Rock auto only has the left Gabriel 'Ready...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

okay, first thing it wasn't the 'BCM, ECM, Cruise' fuse. It was the 'BCM 2' fuse and it blew right away. I should have put it in and then checked it before I started the car. I'll do that as soon...

Re: 2003 L200 needs love

Thanks for the reply, sorry I wasn't clear. I can find 215s at Tire Rack. Tire Rack doesn't show 215 as the option tire for 16 wheels for the 2003 L200. I'm wondering if I can just put 205s on it...
