Re: 2001 Saturn SC2 w 20,522 miles

If you're trying to post snapshots here, using the thumbnail attachment (paper clip symbol), you'll have to resize them due to file size limits (150kb). I use Windows Paint to resize images to less...

Re: Running down the highway at 207-210 degrees

dakota 1820, the next time you observe high coolant temps, determine when the cooling fan turns on and off. A scantool is the only way to see accurate temperatures while listening for the cooling fan...

Re: 2004 L-300 headlight upgrade?

I have only one suggestion but you must accept zero guarantees of my suggestion not working as the worse case scenario with the best case of an upgrade with better lighting and retaining DRLs. Search...

Re: 1999 PCM compatability -- post manual swap

Here's my 2-cents. Before body control modules were added in model years 2000 and up to complicate EFI systems, traction control was strictly an abs operation separate from EFI systems. In other...

Re: Delco = China? Really?

Some perspective is needed against myopic viewpoints. As most know, Japan was ruined after WWII. Germany too. Guess where they are now? China went thru internal political turmoil with one incursion...

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

1-I should have clarified about testing the cooling fan. Disconnecting the coolant sensor (and not driving around), observing for fan turn on and determining whether it blows with force or not is...

Re: 2002 sl2 autotrans problem

It's unusual for all solenoids to change resistance values (according to service bulletin) but may be the solenoids are faulty. Did you check for blown fuses?

Re: questions about head gasket/overheating/missing.

There are several ways to force the cooling fan on. The easiest way is to disconnect the two wire coolant sensor (not the single wire sensor) and turn on ignition. The cooling fan should turn on. If...

Re: 05 Vue Fuel pressure issues

I'm confused by your timelines so let's go over it again.

As of now the engine won't startup, correct? Fuel pressure can be monitored whether the engine runs or not. Leave the fuel pressure gauge...

Re: 05 Vue Fuel pressure issues

Does pressure stay between 55-60 psi with the engine running? This is important as regulated pressure is crucial to correct fuel mixtures for each injector pulse throughout the entire engine run from...

Re: 05 Vue Fuel pressure issues

A fuel pump issue may not be seen at first glance or when bleed off pressure suggests it. If you can, leave the f/p gauge connected so you can check pressures at the moment the engine dies or refuses...

Re: Is $300 a fair price to have a saturn ion alternator fixed?

The mechanic stating repairing the alternator for $300 probably includes all labor to remove and replace it on your car. Whether this mechanic actually rebuilds your alternator or simply replaces it...

Re: L300 Fuel Pump

Borrow a fuel pressure gauge from AutoZone, connect it to the fuel test valve (black plastic cap covering test valve over the engine), turn on ignition. You should see pressure between 38-45 psi....
