Re: 1994 SL2-- It's Dead Jim.

The 2nd pic with the '91-'93 wheel are Geartooth's, not sawtooth's, and they're too heavy to have any special worth. Unlike the '94-'95 Sawtooths (pic 1 of yours) that are 2-4lbs lighter than the...

Re: Drivetrain swap

Not many people have access to a lift so most just drop the frame with engine, trans, sway bar and control arms attached and tying up the steering rack.

You'll want to remove the exhaust from the...

Re: no start - click but no crank - worked yesterday

The local starter & alternator re-builder guy says a no-load bench "test" of a starter is worthless.
It's easy to test anyway, clip a ground/negative cable to the mounting flange and clip a...

Re: Headliner and visor recover

http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1892417 (one of many, MANY guides people have made)

Headliner fabric (with backing foam just like OEM) is $15/yd depending on sales/coupons,...

Re: My odometer quit!

Or....you can spend the $50 on new gears and spend a maximum of 3 hours replacing it one weekend.

Whatever is in there to prevent mileage tampering is a joke, rather like those $1 kids toy "locks"...

Re: Hoping to put an end to differential hype

I did everything to blow the pin on most of my S-Series except burnouts on pavement (dirt/snow/mud/gravel only). Never had an issue. Wanted to give my last S-Series a final "hurrah" via blowing the...

Re: Removing seat belt top adjustment slide

Pretty sure the B-Pillar trim comes off around the knob slider trim, if it was much more complicated I'd remember it in greater detail from pulling the headliner out of 2 '96 SC2's 4 times and...

Re: Removing seat belt top adjustment slide

You pop the trim off the seat belt holder first, take that T...something (T47? T50?) bolt off, then take the trim off then you can get to the bolts holding the slider bits on.

Re: Exhaust question

I assume a straight pipe setup would be about as loud as when the exhaust falls off just after the flexpipe. Wasn't too loud for idling and low load situations but mountain-climbing? Holy crap,...

Re: Need help! 5spd trans issues!

You'll have to get someone to help you out, or a long piece of rope so you can move the shifter around inside the car while watching what happens at the transmission end. Hopefully it's just a cable...

Re: How Much?

I picked up a '97 SW2 114k miles with a fairly rotted sub-frame but still fairly safely drivable for $400 (automatic transmission being in poor shape too). That being a newer year, much lower mileage...

Re: Help with car. No crank

If the starter isn't turning the engine around don't bother wasting time/money on any other potential issue...that's just a bone-headed idea.

If you want to do some diagnosis before replacing the...

Re: 1994 SW1 engine swap

'91-'94's have a shorter fatter vacuum operated EGR valve (ignore the red lines, they pint to the PCV valve tubes):

You can bolt it to the subframe upside down but it won't go into the LCA's upside down. Holding the longest shaft so that the angled arms are roughly level, it should overall point downward at the...

Re: Sourcing replacement tone ring?

The ring isn't replaceable separately from the axle. The right hand axle can be easier to replace as you don't take the axle out of the transmission, only the intermediate shaft.
Because Saturn...

Re: xmission fluid in oil pan?

The _only_ way to fix the oil burning is to rebuild the motor, both the block and the head. Anything else is just going to use up more resource's (time, money, product) than it saves.

Pretty sure...

Re: Rear wiper arm, 1996-2002 S-Series wagon, sources/swaps?

The arm is probably unique to the S-Series so your best bet will be to try finding another SWP/SW1/SW2 to take the arm from and get a replacement spring for it at the hardware/fastener store.

Buy online, pickup in store is awesome. Unless you want to use a gift or this new "merchandise credit" card I got for Christmas, can't use either online as far as I can tell. I think all the parts...
