Re: 2001 L200 cooling fan not working

I had a ground issue affecting both fans. I only noticed because the horn quit working. There is a ground splice below the fan controller where all things front body ground. Brilliant GM put...

Re: coolant leak

I have found the water pump to be the most common leak. It is difficult to see without a lift.

Re: 2001 L200 cooling fans work intermittently

There is a ground splice for the fans and several other items just ahead of the battery below the fan control box. I actually took the splice apart and cleaned the grounds. This solved my...

Re: 2002 Saturn L200

It looks like none of the actuators interchange, in fact the mode actuator is different between the automatic air and the manual air box. It looks like the recirc actuator is the same for both styles...

Re: 20 years later an A/C component fails

Three jaw pullers that push on the shaft will destroy the compressor. You can only push on the aluminum piece that the snap ring attaches to. You might a well just purchase a complete compressor with...

Re: 2002 Saturn L200

You are correct on your assumptions about hvac operation. The recerc actuator is either on or off. The mode actuator is multi position and is most likely the failure point. I work on a fleet of...

Re: 2002 L200 Engine Cradle Question

Now to be clear my 2002 L200 and the 2000 LS that I took apart for parts have identical cradles. Both of those cars have a rod shifted F25 Saab transmission. The shifter is connected to a rod that is...

Re: 2002 L200 Engine Cradle Question

The first photo is a closeup of the difference in the manual cradle. This post is for the manual transmission shift linkage.
The second photo is the complete manual cradle.
The third photo is the...

Re: 2002 Saturn L200

I have 2000-2003 hvac manual hvac boxes out and in the shed and they are identical. And yes to both your questions, the recirc is the right hand button and the mode is the multi position knob on the...

Re: 2002 L200 Engine Cradle Question

There is one bracket for the manual transmission shifter on the subframe. The Saabs have a cable shifter and the L series have a rod shifter. You can cut the bracket off your manual frame and weld it...

Re: 2002 Saturn L200

Bob the pictures in my factory service manual of the hvac box are all the same. The descriptions change but the picture does not. I do not have a picture of the automatic air box. Number 2 in this...

Re: Replacement battery 2003 LW200

I just replaced my battery in my L200 a couple months ago. I have not encountered any issues with battery hold downs on any of the L series cars I have had.

Re: 2001 L200 2.2 Ecotec engine swap

I think the 06 will have the wrong reluctor on the crank for your car. I have an 07 engine and I need to change mine. SBR performance makes a 6+1 reluctor so you can put a late engine into an early...

Re: 2003 L300 v6 bucking when trying to shift

Thank you for being persistent and solving your problem. Floating grounds can cause many problems. I dislike chasing network faults it can be so time consuming.

Re: 2002 Saturn L200

Did you even read my post? All L series have the actuator shown in position #1 it is not the blend door actuator, that is the mode actuator. Never mind.

Re: 2002 Saturn L200

This is the drawing for the standard Hvac box. It is mislabled in the 2002 fsm as the automatic air box. I do not have an automatic box to look at but all the automatic box does differently is...

Re: Anyone know where to get one of these?

You will have to find someone with a junk engine out. I have scrapped all my blown up 2.2s and they left with those still installed. Sorry.

Re: 2003 L300 v6 bucking when trying to shift

Watch the data stream to figure out which bank is misfiring. Fuel trims will tell the tale but as you know they reset with a key cycle. Does the light flash or come on solid? Try unplugging the egr...

Re: 2001 LW200 2.I2 Liter crack in head

I have not heard of this as a common problem with this engine. Possibly a freeze crack due to not enough antifreeze. I know in SoCal a lot of people only run water in their cooling systems.

11588522, GM part number listed on Rock Auto as a timing guide bolt for a L61. $3.45 each plus shipping. Maybe from the stealership?
