yes i know the diff between the two brass thingys,
this is Not a thermistor, it is a Thermocouple.
two pieces of dis similar metals, a bi meatal strip, if you will.
it has a natural reverse...

Sprock Test- Temp Sender
This is a plot of the Saturn SL-2 Temp Sender.
It has Resistance between the sensor ground and either of the 2 terminals.
We choose the South terminal for testing.

sold the car, the guy changes the converter and now the car lays rubber 50 yards down the...

this will turn off when your motor is switched off,
all you have to do is take the feed off the temp sender and feed it into a voltage activated switch for cabin control.
no temp probes to wire...

put a 90 on that flange and i bet it is square,
i bet the guy on the cut off saw was checking out some meat when he hacked that pipe,
usually the poor welder has a jig where he slams the piece...

or get the Claw, that stainless housing with the spring loaded treble claw,

or you have something stuck in the heater hoses,
on this car the heater hose gets necked down into a small steel...
