Re: My SL1 '99 is having intermittent radio issues and a weird blinker issue.

Yes, that's it. The part that is bolted to the frame with that well rusted bolt is a bunch of fingers that the black part which contains matching 1/4" tongue connectors is mated with. The black part...

Re: 96 SC2 bringing it back to life (slowly)

Looks to officially be considered a part of the SC outer window sealing strip assembly for the left door. Checking the JY pix some 96 SCx cars have the chrome strip and some do not. There is no...

Re: My SL1 '99 is having intermittent radio issues and a weird blinker issue.

Take a look at the area around the forward right side ground pack. It is a flat rectangular connector about the size of playing card that is bolted to the mid-rail right behind the right headlight...

Re: What battery are you using

Contrary to the advise above there are several marine batteries that are rated for both starting and deep cycle duty. They are rather common actually as most boats have engines with starters these...

Re: What battery are you using

Running off the battery suggests that you should be using a dual cycle type battery. This would be a both starting and deep cycle battery. Some marine batteries are designed for this type of service....

Re: and so it begins....

He only lists fast movers on eBay. Should have the Saturn stuff at the store though. Nice to see Mevotech has a functional customer support, that is a good sign. Yes that sleeve is pressed in there...

Re: and so it begins....

Quality is all over the place and the guy I linked above is one of those sellers that is picky about the quality of the parts he sells.

Re: and so it begins....

Yes, I would replace it with a new one from a different Chinese factory. The brand name on the box means nothing as to quality either.

This guy has brick and mortar stores in Canada and quality...

Re: and so it begins....

It does look to be a bit displaced. Measure the amount of sleeve on each side and compare to the other side measurements. It does not take much displacement to radically change the steering geometry.

Re: lower or higher bypass oil filter which is better for sl1 95

The filter element pressure drop is a function of oil viscosity and flow rate, the bypass setpoint has nothing to do with it. The bypass opens to bypass the filter element when the pressure drop...

Re: Poor heat from the floor vents

Look up high on the left side of the HVAC box and watch the linkage as you move the slider from far left to right. Watch the damper arm on the damper closest to the rear of the car. Check that the...

Re: Radio backlight

Go to Super Bright LEDs and buy a 12v rated LED, it will be much easier as the resistor is built into the unit. https://www.superbrightleds.com/ If you want to do it the hard way there is a formula...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

They sell new ones at the parts store and they tend to leak/fail after the first overheat event, replace after any coolant ejection event.

Re: Exploded donut spare wiki

Do not forget the parking under a cloudless sky as inside car temperatures increase out of sight. The radial tiny spare probably fails at something like 100psi sustained pressure and when you start...

Re: Antifreeze low dash warning...

There is a raised mark on the left front corner for full cold, it is about 1/2" down from the raised top-side horizontal seam, much below that and you get the light.

Re: Exploded donut spare wiki

You bought the cross bias replacement that has much stronger sidewalls.

I really need to check my spare and see if it has blown up ... :D

Re: Exploded donut spare wiki

Re: Stall & no re-start when hot

After you get it started let it sit in park or neutral until the idle starts to come down towards normal before shifting into gear, about 30-60 seconds delay.

Re: OEM Top Mounts Did I score?

Anything in a tube will never cure completely as that frown is too deep. You would have to fill it in layers. Polyurethane is the best approach and if you are determined then fill with casting...

Re: Exploded donut spare wiki

The reason you can not find the T115/70R14 tire new is they were prone to failure regardless of manufacturer. This is due to the thin sidewall and excessively high pressure. That and people trying to...

Re: 96 SC2 bringing it back to life (slowly)

The trim you are looking for, is it the strip along the top of the door at the lower edge of the window, or the piece that runs across the door top and down the back side to the window? It is most...
