Re: high idle and negative fuel trim

One month before a serious ****up rendering the car inoperable - might be a new record

I know there are some anti theft things in there, not sure what they all are though. Never looked at...

Re: I got stung today...........

Thanks, but WI is a bit far for me to drive. If I'm going that far for an old Saturn, I'd go south first :D

Also need to get rid of a couple of cars before adding one more. Driveway is about...

Re: 2001 SL2 repeatedly blows fuse but only at >60 mph.....

I dealt with my "previous owner DIY wiring mess" at the front of my car (no high beams or DRLs) by grabbing some stock wiring at the junkyard.

I figured it was worth the money not to have to...

Do you have a known good one you can swap?

Some auto parts stores will test for you - there is no other good DIY home test

Re: A little Saturn History

It's true, I've gone over 5k or 6k miles before it lit up on my '02 SC2.

Re: Bonehead Saturn Craigslist find of the day

Makes sense. :D
It has an automatic transmission that you change gears by using the stick thing in between the seats, so . . .

Could be . . . if you try and buy that $500 subaru with the...

Re: Newbie Question

Nearly forgot, early cars (91-92) use a slightly different front subframe/motor mount. You probably won't need a subframe if rust is not an issue where you are, but one of the S-series weaknesses...

Re: Newbie Question

Pop up headlight motors. NLA new.
I think I read somewhere that one of the corvette (w pop up light) motors could be used? You'd have to search here as I might be misremembering

I wouldn't trust...

Re: 1996SL11.9L's 2002 SL1

Nice. You've had quite a bit of woes with compressors, iirc.

Went to use mine the other day, was a nope. Put the gauges on, pressures are normal - clutch is not engaging even with low pressure...

Re: WiFi OBD software

Reported. Spambot, looks like. New user (joined today), two posts so far, and neither contains any Saturn content

And Salesforce CRM is expensive and has nothing to do with saturn cars.

Re: Sl1 vs Sl2 Trim Verication + New Car Gushing

You could be right - I don't recall anyone mentioning it but my memory is getting spottier each year :D

And probably for most of the folks doing extensive swaps, adding a bolt hole isn't a huge...

Re: Sl1 vs Sl2 Trim Verication + New Car Gushing

I think some 1st gen SC2 owners put on the front of an SC1 or SL2, to get rid of the pop up headlights? Not sure.

A few 2nd gen SC2 owners didn't like the "sunk" look of the headlights, and put...

Re: Pimpin' the SL

I've used a foaming tire product on other black plastics and it looked nice. Can't say I have ever used in ton a fender liner, though.

Heard good things about Back to Black but never tried it.

Re: Sl1 vs Sl2 Trim Verication + New Car Gushing

Certain years, you can swap the entire body so that a 2nd gen looks like a 3rd gen and vice versa

I'm having a hard time thinking of parts that won't swap between SL1 and SL2.

Visually, IIRC,...

Re: New tires

^ ^ ^
Must be shop (and possibly tech) dependent.

The Discount Tire shop that I use will put whatever PSI I request, within reason. And I don't recall them using an automatic machine - they...

Re: How deep do I go to repair AC?

Ooh, sorry, I meant "identical design and layout" - not necessarily same parts. I should have phrased better to avoid confusion, wasn't careful because OP wasnt looking at getting parts.

I...

I guess I don't expect great things in the winter from all-weather tires :D
That's why they make winter tires.

Last couple of winters have been fairly mild with light snow, but these Sentury...
