Re: Super clean 1st gen (not affiliated)

It's in central CA, so it should be 110% rust free.

Current tags in CA means it passed emissions at worst two years ago.

Super clean 1st gen (not affiliated)

Single cam, but super clean, and towed, so less than 150k "real" miles. I haven't seen a nice 1st gen like this for sale in 10 years.

Re: Photo Contest: Saturn Stand-Out!

How much did he offer??

I would have parted with any of my Saturns for the right offer (enough to buy a new Kia or something similar...)

Re: Engine cradle still good? How to keep it that way?

I've got a nice rust free cradle in my stash of parts. I'm in CA, though, so I'm sure shipping is a pain.

Re: Bye to Saturn

I got out of the Saturn game a few years ago, so I'm trying to thin the parts supply out a bit ;)

Re: Bye to Saturn

If you were up farther north, I'd sell you my 95k DOHC engine to drop in. Just cranked her over today, still turns freely.

Re: SC with blown engine

Not true. You just drill and tap a hole for the sensor or get otherwise creative. No big deal.

Later (99+) engines can be adapted into older cars. The exhaust is not a huge issue, just make sure...

Re: SC with blown engine

What a coincidence -- as of now, I only have 3 left with no plans to make more. PM sent to OP.

Re: Door Locks Electric

If you buy the POS Dorman replacement, be sure to save your old lock to swap the trim over. The Dorman one is often the wrong side and you have to use the original trim piece. It's higher quality...

Re: Is it necessary to replace nuts when doing suspension work?

I never bothered and never had issues. YMMV.

Re: Calling all (California) people! Lots of parts, clean subframe and 3 parts cars.

I don't think there are any of those left on any of the cars.

Re: Calling all (California) people! Lots of parts, clean subframe and 3 parts cars.

Yeah, I still drop in once a week or so. I have not made EGR adapters in a year or so now, the inventory was moving pretty slowly. I still have a couple of the "reverse style" that adapt the vacuum...

Sad Calling all (California) people! Lots of parts, clean subframe and 3 parts cars.

I'm looking to complete the final stage of my exit from the Saturn Universe
( :tear: ) and sell off my 3 parts cars and or parts from those cars. I have a 1999 SC2 (80k), a 1999 SL2 (95k) and a...

Re: Odometer Gears (Gen2)

I put a 1999 SC2 digital odometer into a 1997 SC2. No issues.

If you can't get them anywhere, send me the broken ones and I can make them for you on my Formlabs SLA 3d printer. PM me for the address.

Re: Emissions readiness DTC- how long does it take?

I guess the only permanent solution to the EVAP readiness monitor is to move to the mild weathered left coast, then!

Re: 02 SL2 driving impressions

Yep, I swear my 95hp Suzuki 1.6 turns into a 22hp kohler lawn mower engine at 10,000 feet.

Re: 02 SL2 driving impressions

The reason you think the car is twitchy is most likely because your used to the classic Benz feel. I went the other direction -- in 2014 I was driving a 1998 SL2 (with a freshly rebuilt suspension)...

Re: Emissions readiness DTC- how long does it take?

What year is your 3rd gen? Your profile has only a 1998. What actual experience do you have with working on these cars? It seems everyone takes your words as gospel theses days, but i often wonder...

Re: Emissions readiness DTC- how long does it take?

What year is your 3rd gen Saturn, OldNuc?

I've had a 2002 in the past, and that car had no problems checking this one off within 1 full tank of fuel (as well as every other monitor, usually...

Re: I want to turn my old 99 SL1 into a sleeper... kind of.

The easiest way is to list your Saturn on craigslist and buy something with a stock turbo.

Re: Emissions readiness DTC- how long does it take?

Evap will complete just fine if you drive that car for a while. I've never had issues with mine checking off within a few tanks of fuel. I even got it to check off same day once. YMMV, but I've...

Re: question on SL2 fuel filter

A car that has no pressure in the lines will not start with the fuel pump fuse out.

Regardless, with the relay in place, you're going to have to clear that code and then drive around until the...
