Re: 1996SL11.9L's 2002 SL1

That sounds like it is OK. whatever drain there is and whatever error is in the DVM are insignificant.

Starting batteries do have a short service life almost by design so plan on periodic...

Re: 1996SL11.9L's 2002 SL1

The generic car battery is designed to just start the car, it is not designed for long term slow discharge loads or to be maintained in a less that fully charged state. Most car applications in real...

Re: TPS woes

There is an obscure issue with low voltage low current connections, fretting corrosion, which is corrected by cycling the connector. One of the suggested fixes is to carefully lube the finned...

Re: 96 SC2 bringing it back to life (slowly)

That chrome cover is not intended to ever be removed from the outer window belt seal strip, the entire assembly is a unit. For slip use this stuff 3M 08897 ...

Re: My SL1 '99 is having intermittent radio issues and a weird blinker issue.

Yes, that's it. The part that is bolted to the frame with that well rusted bolt is a bunch of fingers that the black part which contains matching 1/4" tongue connectors is mated with. The black part...

Re: 96 SC2 bringing it back to life (slowly)

Looks to officially be considered a part of the SC outer window sealing strip assembly for the left door. Checking the JY pix some 96 SCx cars have the chrome strip and some do not. There is no...

Re: My SL1 '99 is having intermittent radio issues and a weird blinker issue.

Take a look at the area around the forward right side ground pack. It is a flat rectangular connector about the size of playing card that is bolted to the mid-rail right behind the right headlight...

Re: What battery are you using

Contrary to the advise above there are several marine batteries that are rated for both starting and deep cycle duty. They are rather common actually as most boats have engines with starters these...

Re: What battery are you using

Running off the battery suggests that you should be using a dual cycle type battery. This would be a both starting and deep cycle battery. Some marine batteries are designed for this type of service....

Re: and so it begins....

He only lists fast movers on eBay. Should have the Saturn stuff at the store though. Nice to see Mevotech has a functional customer support, that is a good sign. Yes that sleeve is pressed in there...

Re: and so it begins....

Yes, I would replace it with a new one from a different Chinese factory. The brand name on the box means nothing as to quality either.

This guy has brick and mortar stores in Canada and quality...

Re: and so it begins....

Re: lower or higher bypass oil filter which is better for sl1 95

The filter element pressure drop is a function of oil viscosity and flow rate, the bypass setpoint has nothing to do with it. The bypass opens to bypass the filter element when the pressure drop...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...
