Re: 98 SC2 - OBDII "fun" ...

If it doesn't get to at least 185f, it's not warm enough to do the tests. Different years have a different "happy" temp between 190f and 200f but it's always in that range, and most OBDII S-Series...

Re: sohc rocker ratio

High RPM's? lmao
The SOHC only rev's to a bit over 5500rpm, the DOHC gets up there a tiny bit better at 6750 but neither is all that high IMO. Heck, my 2.5L H4 Outback rev's higher than the Saturn...

Re: 95 SW2 Timing Chain & System Questions

Fuel pressure tester was $45 at Autozone (Actron brand I think), or nearly $200 to rent. Didn't really have the $45 at the time to spend, but really really didn't have the $200, and the jackwagon's...

Re: Where is my power steering fluid going?!?

Only place it could be leaking into without going onto the ground is the tie rod boots, which would mean a new/different rack is required (or the current rebuilt), but I'd be VERY surprised if they...

Re: Transmission warmed up wont shift

The surefire, sometimes overkill (or always, depending on who you ask :)), fix is to swap it to a 5spd. Harder to do than fix the current automatic when you don't have the parts on hand, but if it...

Re: S- Series Transmispingsion Identification With and Without Stamping

With truck rear ends you can mark the pinon output flange and spin a tire to get the gear ratio. Maybe it's the inverse of that...anyhow....same idea should work with our transmission though it'll be...

Re: Energy Suspension

If your current rear bushings are still in decent shape than it's probably not worth it. Mine were just about falling out they were so bad, between the new struts, springs and bushing's it feels so...

And the accompanying bolts. You can get away with 8 and use 8 cheaper normal nuts on the...

Re: 1993 Saturn problems. Fan ect

You probably need to change the $15 2-wire ECTS. If you want the easy way to get the right one tell the counter person your car is a '97.

This list is what you need to start with:...

Re: Motor mount changed, still vibrates hard.

Most '96-'99's came with the 2nd design style mount, the "Frowny". '91-'95 came with the first design, the solid type, and '00-'02 use design 3 which is technically design 1.

Going from the...

Re: Motor mount changed, still vibrates hard.

Why didn't you get the longer studs that are generally required when changing to the solid style mount?
That doesn't have anything to do with the vibrations, which are caused by using a non OEM part.

Re: '98 SW2 upper engine mount numbers

SDA (Street Design Auto) was one of the legit place's to buy performance S-Series parts until they had to close a couple years ago due to S-Series owners being cheap tight-wads (me included :))....

Re: '98 SW2 upper engine mount numbers

You're new here aren't you?

The frowny I got from SDA felt better 6 years down the road then the brand new OEM mount does. I figured for $15 I'd put the insert into a new mount, didn't make a...

Re: Energy Suspension

Trailing arm or sway bar?
The sway bar bushings have a slit to slip over the sway bar.

For the trailing arm, you press it out of the arm, burn/pull/press the attachment bar out of the bushing,...

Re: Control Arm Stiffness

Loosely attach it to the sway bar first, then attach to frame. You'll have to aim the arm into the bracket while inserting the sway bar into the arm, and then you'll have to use something to compress...
