Re: 99 HCE alloy wheel swap question
I believe the HCE's use the "standard" pattern but a unique paint job, similar to the Red (http://www.saturnfans.com/photos/data/500/medium/redhot.jpg)/White...

Re: Engine Swap 1995 Saturn SL2
'91-'92 crankshafts can't be used in '93+, the timing gear is funky. '91-'93ish also have a funky bolt pattern to the valve cover that isn't found on '93ish-'98.
'95 for the easiest swap into '95...

Re: 99 HCE alloy wheel swap question
All Alloy S-Series wheels are (exception possibly being the 'custom' AR wheels on the Bumblebee's):
15" x 6"
4 x 100 mm bolt pattern
50 mm offset
57.1 mm hub bore
14's (steel only)...

Re: Transmission Coolant Temp Sensor Replacement
Same sensor for the engine coolant temp, intake air temp and auto-transmission temp. I think only in the intake it 100% threads in, the others thread in enough to not leak (NPT thread is tapered).

Re: 2000 Saturn SL2
I don't watch FiremanCV's videos anymore so I don't know how much he went into how to use the MM; here's a good video on starting out with one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF3OyQ3HwfU

Re: '02 SL Rear Seat Removal
There's 4 locking tabs that secure it, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. The 2 front ones actually lock it in place, you have to push in the middle of the foot well area on both sides to get it to...

Re: What side is the 'S' terminal on..Help!
You did say it's 2WD when they asked if it's 4x4/AWD right? lol
It doesn't matter, though whichever side puts it farther from the block is easier to get to once it's bolted to the motor.

Re: The latest acquisition
My current Subaru came from Colorado to Vermont in 2017. It's the only one of it's vintage I've seen as rust free as it is. No idea what Colorado does to it's roads when it snows but I'm 99% sure...

Re: Alternator compatability
'91-'97.5 and '97.5-'02. Napa used to have the VIN change over, I believe it correlates to 12/97 build date ending the good alternator.
The early one is the better one, larger case, better...

Re: How to "fix" muffler strap
You might have to triangulate it to get it to hold the muffler solid, rather than just hanging down. You don't want it too solid anyway, even the stock hanger has 3-4in of slide room.

Re: 02 SC2 Intermittent reverse lights
Well, that's an easy enough fix. Just tear down the tower, put a couple weld beads on the shifter arm and put it back together. Simple, just like those 30yr old 1000pc puzzles from an estate sale...

Re: 1997 SW2 P0336 misfire with details
The best way is directly at the alternator cable post to the battery, but the alternator is a bit annoying to get to so you likely can do the same test directly on the battery. Measure the AC voltage...

Re: 1997 SW2 P0336 misfire with details
It could be the ground cables. There's 1 on each top bellhousing bolt, 1 next to the battery and the PCM/O2 sensor grounds are kinda hidden under intake runner #3.
If you have a DMM, this would be...

Re: 1997 SW2 P0336 misfire with details
According to the FSM...none of the performed/listed tests posted in this thread have anything to do with P0336 "Noisy CKP circuit".
Inspect the wiring for breaks and try another alternator.

Traction control is like ABS...the only time it works properly is when it's turned off, and neither one have anything to do with the transmission.

Re: Turbo Saturn build
Balance the lighter crankshaft?...that just sounds like bolting in the heavier crankshaft except harder and more expensive to end up with a crankshaft that weighs the same.

Re: TPS brand?
ACDelco is just another part reboxer now. They may still be officially a part of GM, but they're still putting generic non-dealer parts under their label.
GM says #21023673 for '98-'99. Not sure...
