Re: No reverse after valve body replacement.

We retorqued the input shaft nut and we have reverse back. There is some harsh shifting between fist and second gear now. But I'm hoping that's because of the new valve body and will start to smooth...

Two weeks ago it started with the reverse slam followed by harsh shifts in forward gears. Within a couple days it...

Anyone know of a reputable source for rebuilt transmissions? Don't really want to mess around with transmission on my son's 2001 Limited Edition SC2. It's got the reverse and forward slam. Just...

Re: A 2001 SC2 "BUMBLEBEE EDITION" 99 were made, where are they?

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know the model of the wheels on the Limited Edition? I know they were made by American Racing. I need to try and find one. Had a mishap a few days ago...

Re: Sunroof glass height adjustment.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Loosening and adjusting the glass should work.

Won't have to sand or repaint anything. This sunroof module and glass I got from the junkyard look brand new. Not a...

Sunroof glass height adjustment.

A few weeks ago I picked up a 2001 limited edition SC2, #78 of 99. The sunroof was rusted, leaking and nonfunctional. Last weekend we found a working and almost brand new looking sunroof module in a...

Re: A 2001 SC2 "BUMBLEBEE EDITION" 99 were made, where are they?

My son and I are going to restore as close to original as possible and it will be his to drive. I think the only thing that won't be exactly as original will be the seats. Will probably have them...

Re: A 2001 SC2 "BUMBLEBEE EDITION" 99 were made, where are they?

It's something someone put on the car. Either a previous owner or a dealership. Saturn never "labeled" the S-Series cars. Even if they were limited or special editions. Only way to visually tell was...

Will be going to look at #78 tomorrow morning. If everything check out, I'll be posting pics tomorrow afternoon with it in my driveway. Isn't there a registry of these somewhere?

Timing Chain.

Been a while since I had to do a S-Series timing chain. Engine has been making some rattling accelerating at 3/4 to full throttle or while going uphill. The car is a 2000 SC2 with 130,000 miles with...

Re: Saturn SL2 2nd Gen Fog Lamp Gap

Is there a part number stamped on the bracket? Those may not be sedan foglamps. They might be 95-96 coupe foglamps.

I painted my roof recently myself with rattle cans. Came out pretty good. I may eventually paint the entire car this way.

Re: Removing Top engine mount without jack

I just let it fall to the ground and drag it out still attached to the cradle. Or what's left of it after cutting it free of the car.

Re: Removing Top engine mount without jack

The pick-n-pulls here have the cars sitting up on stands. It's pretty easy to drop the engines to the ground while still bolted to the cradle and slide them out from under the car.

At home, I use...

Re: Removing Top engine mount without jack

If I've ever needed a jack while at the junkyard, I'd just check to see if the car I was pulling parts from still had its jack. If not, I'd look in another car.

I miss the good old days when I'd...

Re: Mouse belt issues

This is what Gen 1 door pin switches look like. You press the two tabs from the back side then they slide out from the front.
