Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

My shift lever was having a little problem getting out of park, so I learned what to do from this forum and grabbed a Philips, a couple different sprays and ended up taking the console off to clean...

Re: HELP Accidentally Cracked Fender

My 'tool' of choice for that job to get done would be 5 dozen Oatmeal Raisin Cookies or maybe a 24" x 18" tray of Fudge Brownies with good coffee. :D

I keep my Strawberry Boysenberry Jam for the...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

This was my 'clunk' that was fixed today with new sway bar bushings and brackets. Silicone grease was then applied to all bushings while the car's skirt was hiked up.

Re: New SL2 Owner, high idle speed-

I purchased the OEM TPS through a GM Dealer (out of my area in Fremont, Ca) about 6 months ago. The parts department manager helped me out by calling his supplier and found the ACDelco #21023673. The...

Re: Spam

I have started treating this forum's spam like a child having a tantrum in a store - just walk away and continue shopping.

I get far too much insight and information on this forum to do less than...

Re: What is the foam seal on the fresh air intake on the cowl?

May I suggest you save yourself some time and just make one. The ones I saw in the junkyard were very deteriorated. I made one using glued layers of leftover headliner material cut into an oval and...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

I had been hearing a clunk, periodically, from the front end for a short time, so I did a lot of research into this forum and watched many youtubes to help me uncover the problem before it got out of...

Re: Wet & Melting Steering Wheel

If doing a deep clean on your steering wheel with either a degreaser or saddle soap does nothing and you are unable to replace the steering wheel, you might just grab an old style steering wheel...

Re: Attention northerners....Winter wiper blade reccomendation?

No reason, other than my Dad taught me to use carnauba wax and it brings back some wonderful memories especially since I still use his last tin of wax. :D

Re: Attention northerners....Winter wiper blade reccomendation?

I have used carnauba wax, applied to very clean car windows, for the cold months, and it really helps with the rain we occasionally get here in California. :D I have no idea if it would help with the...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Until it is fixed you could always use the old arm signals, unless of course, you are too young to have used them in the past. :p

Re: 97 SL2, passing CA smog? Sensor replacements

I would suggest you replace the PCV, which is really cheap, and also replace the spark plug wires.

My 1998 SL2, for the first time, failed CA smog this year at 218,075 miles. The car failed the...

Re: Chroming a rear spoiler

Frankly, $266.00 is a decent price to wrap the spoiler when you consider the cost of the actual materials/tools and just how tricky curves are to do properly. It should take a pro about 2-3 hours to...

Re: Door sealing strip.

You might consider going to the junkyard and finding them off a 1998-2002 SL. That is what I did. (I found a car that looked as though it had been garaged.) All it takes is a 12 torx to loosen the...

Re: Poping noise in front end.

In a past lifetime, I had a 1985 Subaru Brat (4 wheel drive) that would make a similar noise when the CV joints needed to be replaced.

Re: Can't get spark plug wires ON!--too tight

Recently, my mechanic changed me over to the NGK 51117 (blue wires) with my 98 SL2. I had brought him a set of AC Delco and they were too tight.
