Re: Just cant find one..
Congratulations, the car looks awesome, that is one of my favorite 3rd gen SC colors, and those are my favorite alloys as well. Great looking SC2!!

Re: Just cant find one..
Broaden your search. That is still a common car even for this day and age.
If you're willing to drive a few hours to get what you really want, you should be able to find one no problem..

Re: Maybe I just like the "old ways" ...
I as well prefer this.. I always liked the 2nd gen gauge cluster. Very easy to read and clean and simple. Except when those annoying Orchestra bulbs burn out :)

Re: Life expectancy of flaps radiator
Nice!
I hope it ends up on the road.. It has so many good/new parts over the last few years. That thing never let me down, it was always just the front wheel bearings.

Re: Life expectancy of flaps radiator
I used a Spectra on my 97 SL1 back in the day and it lasted 11 months. The second one did fine, but when my 96 SL2 needed a radiator, I went to the wreckers and got a low miles OEM rad which never...

Re: single vs. twin cam
With 300,000 miles, I would not pay $995 for that car.. That's a $300 car topps.
Every now and then I see a clean S series behind a dealership that was clearly traded and often wonder what I could...

Re: single vs. twin cam
I drove a 97 SL1 5MT for a few years, it was fine in normal driving. As others have said the torque it has is sufficient for a daily driver. Downshifting for up hills is definitely a thing. I kinda...

Re: Lost my SL1- looking for a new one
I don't know the 0-60 time on that car, but I can tell you my '00 SW2 5 speed was plenty fast for what it was. A great practical car with plenty of pep.
I would go after that car for sure. It's a...

Re: Lost my SL1- looking for a new one
Sorry for the loss of your SL1
But I would use this opportunity to get a DOHC 5 speed. It's a lot more fun and the DOHC engines are every bit as reliable if not more than the SOHC.

Re: Pick a part trip
I love the wreckers.
So many good parts kept my Sats on the road from the wreckers. I am lucky to have many in my area as well. They are getting really light on S-series now though. Parts became a...

Re: The $700 Saturn
Those are the wheels that came on the 3rd gen SC2, but on the 99 HCE they were the only wheel available, and polished instead of the standard cleared look of the SC2's wheels.
I wanted a set of...

Re: Should I stop changing the oil?
I stopped changing the oil my SL2 after a while and just did filter changes. I would do a full drain about once a year though. The consumption never got any worse and the engine ran awesome. I used...
