Re: Where would i find a factory intake for a 01 SC2?

Any JY with the gen-3 Saturns will have the intake box etc. I would go to a pick and pull as they are rather expensive from the JY that pulls them for you.

Re: Fluid running noise in cabin, weak heat

There is another possible cause of this noise, turbulent flow. Generally for quiet laminar flow is desired. So this could be a flow velocity change phenomena.

Re: 02 SL2--Lower Control Arm/Ball Joint: Seized Bolt

It is near impossible to force a taper apart, both force and shock is required. Buy the 20.00 tool and 1 10-12oz hammer. Apply tool and tighten, then rap the side of the taper seat. If it does not...

Re: Oil drain plug gaskets

Do not shim out the rubber washer as it will just extrude and leak. There are 2 different drain bolt configurations and using the correct sealing washer is required.

The trans drain bolt is a 14mm...

Re: 02 SL2--Lower Control Arm/Ball Joint: Seized Bolt

You can try just removing the LCA ball joint. The end result is usually a destroyed boot though.

Re: Oil drain plug gaskets

IF that plug has a recessed face then this fits and these should be replaced every other oil change. DORMAN 97115

Re: 02 SL2--Lower Control Arm/Ball Joint: Seized Bolt

There are 2 separate items here: 1)tie rod end and 2)LCA ball joint. Both must be disconnected to allow the knuckle to move out far enough to release the axle shaft from the knuckle. This is the easy...

Re: Differential / Riing Gear for TAAT on ebay

If I remember correctly the manual and auto are not interchangeable. Message Low Saturn for definitive answer.

Re: Fluid running noise in cabin, weak heat

It is a random phenomina.

The easy fix is to get a look at the FSM or ShawnV post on heater core replacement(in How-To Library IIRC)and remove just the side and possibly the bottom so you have...

Re: 02 SL2--Lower Control Arm/Ball Joint: Seized Bolt

You do not detach the sway bar from the LCA to replace the axle.Pop the tie rod end and the LCA ball joint end and pull the strut and knuckle away from the axle.

Re: Fluid running noise in cabin, weak heat

The bend radius was up to the contractor who built the assembly. The contract was rebid every 6 months so who knows who built it. So you end up trying to guess what OK looks like. Restricting the...

Re: Fluid running noise in cabin, weak heat

The heater hoses are disconnected from above. Removing the core is what causes pain.

I would invest in a refractometer, eBay.

Possibly bad cap and system not pressurizing above atmospheric.

Re: Fluid running noise in cabin, weak heat

The heater core comes out from inside of the car.

Check the reservoir pressure cap or buy a new one.

The gurgling should change with pressure and temperature and the low heat is a result of...

Re: Fluid running noise in cabin, weak heat

Actually it is cavitation in an elbow in the piping. That is why it requires a core replacement as there are very tight radius bends in the outlet tube and it should be a long radius bend. It is...

Re: Fluid running noise in cabin, weak heat

No immediate luck finding the TSB but did find this: http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1844906&postcount=3

From memory the issue is caused by the slope of the heater core attached...

Re: Will this part listed for ECTS work for TTS?

If you rush the job there will be drainback. The sensor is in the filter inlet side of the system and it does not drain instantly.

Re: Will this part listed for ECTS work for TTS?

None if you let it set with the engine off for 15-20 minutes so everything drains back.

Re: 02 Sl2 Trans Fluid Replacement Questions

As long as you can manage to not ground out the battery leave it connected, there is only the general idiot proofing for that recommendation. It is the same as don't run with scissors.

Re: 02 Sl2 Trans Fluid Replacement Questions

Change the seals as they are cheap and a real pain to replace while the trans is in the car. If the trans is in the car then don't fiddle with the seals. Just take clean q-tips and clean the gunk out...

Re: Is engine seized?

If the pistons seized that much force will break them loose and everything will turn but the engine will be so tight that the starter will not turn it over. You should be able to turn that engine...

Re: Is engine seized?

It sounds like the pistons are seized in the bore. This is usually what happens when you run a hot engine without oil.
