Re: WTB: Lower bumper support and bumper cover.

Still looking for a blackberry bumper cover and still willing to travel a couple hours to get one. Also, if there's a parts car that someone finds with an undamaged blackberry bumper cover that's...

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

I'm sure there is, just not sure how to do it. You probably have to use the TIS2000 software to update. I don't think mileage updates can be done through the Tech 2 itself. Could be wrong though.

Re: Headlight bulb replacement?

Yep. The HIR bulbs have a taller plastic tab than the 9005 bulbs do. You'll have to trim a bit so they'll fit properly. You don't have to modify your housings, all the trimming is on the bulb. ...

Re: Headlight bulb replacement?

Don't waste your money on those. Get a set of Philips HIR bulbs from ebay and use those instead. I've had a set of those in my 99SL2 since early December and the light output is hugely improved...

Re: Whats your MPG?

I'm usually around 27MPG with my auto 99 SL2. Mostly city driving with a slightly heavy foot and I carry a bunch of stuff in the trunk. Heavy tool kit, roadside emergency box, first aid kit, tub of...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

Realistically, just the front bumper cover. But for $500, that's too good a deal to pass up for the entire car with how good the body looks.

Anyway, I lost the back end cresting a hill a few...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

Same here. I've been trying to find a parts car that's a color match for quite a while now. Every time I do, it's hundreds of miles from me and I have no way of getting it here. I kinda wish I...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

Does anyone in Rockford, IL want to buy this, strip off all the body panels and hold onto them for me until I can drive out there and pick them up? I'll foot the bill for the car and you can keep...

Re: Timing chain still good after 160K miles?

192k on my 99 SL2 with nothing but regular dino oil changes and I'm on the original timing chain with no issues. Smooth idle, good fuel economy, nice and quiet.

Re: Took a gamble, bought a tech2 clone (Tech2Win)

I thought about getting the VCXnano instead of the full blown Tech2 clone, but decided against it mostly because it requires a laptop. Still a very cool piece of hardware though. Glad to see its...

Re: Possible Bad PCM "2001 SL2"

Still haven't tried programming yet. The issue with my uncle's VUE was apparently water intrusion interfering with the accelerator pedal position sensor. Signs pointed to a failed ECU, but since...

Re: Possible Bad PCM "2001 SL2"

Have you tried testing the circuit with a test light? Might be a broken wire causing the problem. As far as PCM swapping, if it's anything like my uncle's VUE the replacement PCM will retain the...

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

For me getting the Tech 2 was purely a want. I have a DS808 and it does probably 90% of what the Tech 2 can do. I could have just purchased a J2534 interface to add to my DS808 and that would have...

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

Can't edit, wanted to clarify.

The ones that do come with a case have an $85+ shipping charge. The cases IMO aren't worth the extra cost. Get the SP23-1 and pickup the Harbor Freight case...

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

I don't have a third gen to test on unfortunately, but the RKE programming is there in the Tech 2. While testing the ECU programming capability on my 99 (just setting up to flash, but not actually...

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

SP23-1 is the kit I bought. That one does not come with a case, however the shipping is free for that one. Harbor Freight has a very nice aluminum case with internal padding for $25 after coupon. ...

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

I went with SP23-1. The difference between them is the SP23-D comes with a case but does not have free shipping. The case isn't anything special, save the money and buy one from Harbor Freight for...

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

I got it from chinacardiags.com Arrived direct from China in under a week via DHL. I was impressed with how quickly it got here. I'll cross post this in the S-series forum as well.

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

Picture attached as requested. The Tech 2 is much larger than I expected it to be. The case in the picture didn't come with it, it was a purchase from Harbor Freight. Rather nice case too. From...

Re: I purchased a clone Tech 2, ask me anything.

So...no questions?

I'll give my "review" after using it a bit. The overall construction is very impressive. The clone doesn't feel cheaply made, good weight to it and everything fits together...

Re: WTB: 99 SL2 front bumper cover.

I'm still looking for a Blackberry front bumper cover for my 99 SL2. As stated in earlier posts, I do not mind driving a few hours to come get it. I'll even pull the part myself. If you have one on...

Re: I see some serious sub-frame rust

It's a fairly straightforward swap. A dozen or so bolts, most are pretty obvious but a couple ground connections are kinda hidden. Have to unbolt the power steering rack from the subframe. You'll...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

Hmm, I'm tempted. Definitely don't need it though, especially since I recently bought a truck and don't have the room, but man that would be a nice little project to have some fun with.

And...

I'll be doing ECU programming in the next couple of days, so I'll be able to answer questions about programming then. In the mean time, I'll try to answer whatever questions you guys have about the...
