Re: Hated to do it.. But it's done

I haven't even made the first payment. I regret trading my sc2 in. A lot of time and effort went into it and it would still be a reliable oil burner. Fords kinda useless when it comes to warranty...

Re: Hated to do it.. But it's done

I have. They're not so tech savvy usually. Unlike here. The few that respond like to reply with general assumptions or take it to a dealer.

Re: Hated to do it.. But it's done

Well a lot of gm cars use the same transmission as silly as it sounds. Most fwd fords and gms use a 6f variant.

Re: Hated to do it.. But it's done

Just an update for my fellow Saturn members..My fusion is in the shop for the 4th time since I bought it for transmission issues. It's getting stuck in 2nd gear and has rough shifts. But the dealer...

Re: Has your car ever started on fire? How?

I had an amplifier on the back of the seat in my old sc2 melt down and catch the back of the seat on fire. Filled the car with smoke and all that jazz. I also had a sw2 I bought that had a fire under...

The focus has a 6 speed with the same 1.6 ecoboost. Hmm. Maybe after the warranty.

Re: Hated to do it.. But it's done

I hate payments too. But so many goodies to play with make me forget. Also I greatly miss my 5 speed. My ranger is 5 speed but not near as fun as the saturns.

After all the work and time into my 01 sc2 I traded it in for a new Ford Fusion. I'm driving 2 hours a day and wanted something comfier for the ride and more reliable. My sc2 was using a quart a week...

Re: P0446

Fortunately this car doesn't have much rust if any at all. Everything's clean around the new gas cap. I think my next step will be to drop the tank and check the pressure sensor and check for leaks...

P0446

So I've still been fighting this code and can't figure it out. I've been told to replace the gas cap and evap solonoid under the filler neck. Neither fixed it. What's the next step?

Re: SL-1 shocks AM Autoparts AM-2759607166

Just for heads up for future online buying.. That seller am-autoparts is a horrible seller. I've bought multiple things from them and every time it's been headaches. First was my 3rd gen headlights....

Re: Experiences with Safelite, new windshield?

I just had the windshield in my ranger replaced a second time by a local glass place.. Safelite took the windshield out, noticed it had some light rust in the frame and told me they wouldn't warranty...

Re: Engine noise at specific RPM

Sounds like you've done your trouble shooting.. It's a clutch issue. I would start testing the clutch and do easy tests. Hydraulic test. See if it slips. Visually inspect the transmission fluid(maybe...

Re: '00 SL1 LS4 V8 Sleeper Project

What's even better is you chose a sl1 so even people who know saturns will be confused. Oh that's just a slow sohc..

Re: 2001 Saturn sc2 ghost coolant leak.

Re: what to use to adjust headlight?

My eBay headlights use a Phillips. They also broke very quickly as the gear is weak.

Re: what to use to adjust headlight?

Our 95 actually came with a few red screw drivers which were marked "headlight vertical" and "headlight horizontal"

That being said, lube the crap out of the adjustments and use a good e7.

Re: 97 SW1 Belt idler pulley wheel sleeve sheared off

It's a junkyard item usually. Not a fun job at all if you end up doing it. If you do, the oil pump is built into the cover so make sure to replace/rebuild it.

Re: Has anyone painted/dyed their cloth interior?

I tried it on my 93 blazer with black carpet dye. Duplicolor I believe made it. It worked but faded quickly. I only did a few spots where the original carpet had been bleached. I noticed my shoes had...

Re: 2002 Saturn SL2 - Engine Ticking/Knocking Sound

Also keep in mind when you spin a rod bearing those metal particles have to go somewhere. Without hot tanking the block they're still in there circulating through the new rod bearings, main bearings,...
