Re: o4 vti ?

Check out this link from GM - a Word document. www.media.gm.com:8221/division/powertrain/products/transmission/2004/VT25E.doc.
If you can't view word documents, here is a link to my posting -...

Re: Looking to purchase a new to me Vue.

Avoid the VTi transmission - it is found in the older 4-cylinder models.
Owners of the Honda V6-powered AWD version have had some issues with the rear diff module, and so you might want to consider...

Re: Service

I call in around a week before I know I need to go, so I can get a better time slot at the Saturn dealer. That usually works fine for me.

This is a very good guess, in fact.

Re: To sell the VUE or not to sell the VUE..

What do the running/maintenance and insurance costs look like for a Saab as opposed to the Vue?
My suggestion: keep hold of your VUE, and save the cash you'd have put into the Saab - you may always...

Re: Latest MPG

On a recent trip from Phoenix, AZ to Santa Clara, CA, and back, every tank bettered 26mpg, with a high just shy of 28mpg. There was a fair bit of driving in the (congested) LA area and silicon...

Re: I am a rare breed, I own a 2003 Vue 2.2 CVT AWD Vue and Love it.

Nissan Murano owners may choose to disagree on that point.

Re: the real scoop: fuel economy 2.2 4 cylinder versus 3.5 6 cylinder

We've consistently got better mileage with our 04 V6 than with the 03 CVT engined vehicle it replaced.

Re: More accurate MPG ratings

BTW, my 2001 SL1 gives me 30mpg for city driving. When I used to take it long-distance, I got a best of 42mpg, and regularly close to 40mpg. These figures exceed even the old EPA figures, let alone...

Re: More accurate MPG ratings

As far as I'm concerned, the old EPA figures appear closer to the truth
2004 V6 FWD:
Lowest mileage: a shade under 20mpg for a tank in-city
Highest mileage: a shade under 28mpg for long-distance...

Re: Have you owned a previous Vue? Do you like the Previous or Current Vue Better?

Previous VUE: 2003 AWD VTi
New VUE: 2004 FWD V6

There is nothing about the VTi I miss.

Re: AC compressor stuck on?

You heard this correct, as the last poster pointed out.
If you turn the fan off, then it won't run.

Re: Has anybody had a VTi that didn't eventually fail?

My empirical data from early 2004 at the time of my VTi problems is that the AWD Vue had most problems, and the Ion the least. I had called around four or five dealers in different locations at that...

Re: I think my VTi started exhibiting symptoms

Dulino, I recall (though maybe incorrectly) that you chose to lease your Vue, which might turn out to be a blessing.

Possibly the alternator..... did your battery warning light come on? Did you notice any electrical issues (lack of power steering, lights dimming etc)?

Re: Honda Powertrains

GM got me out of my '03 VTi with a deal I couldn't refuse. The reasons for choosing the Vue in the first place revolved around value for money - it could be had at a lesser price than Japanese...

Top Engine mount replacement

Hi all,

I have an '01 SL1 with around 55,000 miles. I am getting a bit of vibration at idle, and it looks like it is one of the top engine mounts. My question is: is it something I can tackle...

Re: 07 Vue gas mileage is the pits

I'm not convinced by the break-in argument, and I didn't do what would be considered a break-in period. The only thing I did was not drive constantly at a set speed.. Since day 1 on our 04, I've...

Re: Why Don't You Want a Mexican VUE?

I vote for "don't care", based primarily on the fact that I intend to keep our '04 for some time to come.

Re: Gas gauge dips when full

Faulty sending unit? On our previous Vue, we had a problem with the reader not reaching full at fill up, but it didn't oscillate around.
Are you giving your gas cap a minimum 3 clicks when putting...
