Re: Main bearing swap while block remains in car

That is likely because when it was opened up the OP discovered the engine was trashed. Generally when the oil light comes on it is already way too late and same goes for knocking at idle. If you hear...

Re: Main bearing swap while block remains in car

If you do a bit of research you will find that actual clearance measurements show that plastigauge is unreliable.

You can tell by looking at the reflection of a bright monochromatic light on the...

Re: oil in coolant fixed, but...

By the book all hoses are supposed to be replaced along with the thermostat and then the system flushed with TSP and water. Automatic Dishwasher Detergent has been neutered and no longer contains...

Re: Main bearing swap while block remains in car

Keep in mind that if the bearings are noticeably bad that the crank condition is as well. You will find that if the crank is bad you will have to pull the engine or try and get the flywheel off with...

Re: Masking Tape for handling HIR bulb for 9011 mod? Necessary?

The site I linked has all the info on the various generations of those bulbs. I have yet to have one fail but I did rewire the entire drl logic so the high beams are no longer used.

Re: Masking Tape for handling HIR bulb for 9011 mod? Necessary?

Where are you buying the bulbs as most come precut now. Use the nitrile gloves, Just use clean ones right out of the box.
This is where I buy the bulbs. https://store.candlepower.com/hesowisu.html ...

Re: will this horn fit

If you use an incorrect relay you will still burn out the clock spring and/or the horn buttons. This will happen immediately or last for enough time you think it is fixed. The richpin video has all...

Re: PCV elbow for fixed orifice Fram PCV

There are molded hoses with an elbow in them or you can find the generic nylon elbows and use a straight piece of hose. This can turn into an arts and crafts project.

Re: PCV elbow for fixed orifice Fram PCV

#1 yes hair dryer on high or heat gun set for 180F or so.

#2 Do not ever tell the counter guy what you are using a part on when you give them a part number. If you do you will get all kinds of bad...

Re: What is the diaper thing in the rear doors?

Whatever it is it will have a part number and description. Maybe someone will look it up for you and it will be a gen-3 feature.

Re: 98 sc 1 5sp manual

If you look in the bell housing and it is BLACK then your problem is NOT a leaking input shaft seal assembly, it is likely engine oil leaking from the left end of the cam cover. If it is...

Re: 97 SL2 running rough after changing crankshaft position sensor

The FSM directs a relearn every time the CKP is replaced. There is no way you will know if it is just a little off.

The OPs problem may very well be a failing ICM or a cracked coil tower.

Re: 1996 SL1 SOHC Rod Knock

If the oil light does not come on when the oil is hot and the engine is at idle I would start looking for exactly what is making noise as it is not looking a lot like a rod.

Re: What is the diaper thing in the rear doors?

Duct tape will not last long inside of a door due to the high heat, use the high temperature rated aluminum duct tape. 350F or above recommended. Make a new inner door sheet and place sound deadening...

Re: 880 vs 893 Fog Light Bulbs or Something else?

Re: 880 vs 893 Fog Light Bulbs or Something else?

Replacements that actually work are rather expensive and are a real pain to mount properly because you have to dismantle most of the front bumper structure to drill mounting holes. If you never have...
