Re: Bye to Saturn

Yes! This forum made it so I can apply what I've learned here to my new car. And---it also gave me the knowledge to know that just because I bought a car that was "new" to me, doesn't mean it's...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Hi toggenburg. From what I gather, flushing the automatic tranny on my Honda is not recommended. I drained mine so far, bought a new tranny filter and will replace the old filter and change new...

Thumbs Up Re: Bye to Saturn

Yeah, got a good deal on the Chilton. Coming next week. Will change the tranny fluid then. All else can wait a little.

Re: Bye to Saturn

Yes, I've already visited YouTube for suggestions! It's a great source but you have to visit more than one video because I've found "bogus" info there, where their procedures are "suspect". I've...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Possibly----to the five reasons listed above! I'm missing you guys already! And if I don't get any or few responses from that forum, I'll look for another, then another, then another. ...

Re: Bye to Saturn

If Saturn wouldn't have gone out of business, I would have stuck with Saturn. I mean, I'm familiar with the product and the support I received from the good guys (and girls in some cases) on this...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Yeah, never looked before but now I see "Fits" all over the place. And called Honda today and they don't "flush" the tranny but only replace about 3 quarts. So----since I can do that, I cancelled...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Thanks, fdryer. Don't know if the new forum will be nearly as good as this one but I hope so. And I don't think there is much of a "theft factor" with the Fit. Hey, if I'm going to go to prison...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Couldn't find the pan with a drain hole on that site. I'll Google around to see if I can find one. But I'm rethinking going into the dealers. I don't really know if this Honda was properly flushed...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Wow! Called Honda to see how much it was for a transmission fluid change and it's $126!!! Even though I'd would have loved to have that change on my service record, I figure that with 115K miles,...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Yes, I'm looking into the transmission fluid change soon. And hey, the speedometer goes up to 140 m.p.h.! What the? It has pretty good acceleration and hopefully as good a gas mileage as my...

Re: Bye to Saturn

This Honda Fit is the automatic. Shifts smoothly and from what I've read, is a good one that should last ---- I hope. What---have you heard, toggenburg? Good or not so good? Too late, anyway. ...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Well, everything couldn't have worked out better. I found a great, used car to replace my Saturn. Found a 2010 Honda Fit. It's a "sardine sized" micro car with a lot of miles (115K) but runs like...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Don't have the skill but thanks for the offer! Sounds like a good engine with that amount of low miles! Save that baby.

Re: Bye to Saturn

Yes, and I guess, from the consensus of others, it's a helpful two pages about A/C repair. My air is still running! ;)
And----it was killing me that I may have had to scrap my 97 but I have...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Thanks for the heads up on that one----that's a sweetie! And with so few miles. I will have a look. I'm also looking at a 2008 Honda Civic but can't go for the price he's asking but intend to make...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Thank you. I wish I could find someone to take it over and work on it instead of handing it over to a junkyard. Hate to see it "cannibalized" so to speak. But, no other option. Still love the...

Re: Bye to Saturn

Thanks, fellas and yes, it's been a "good ride" and it's killing me to send it to the junk yard! Again, the outside and inside are absolutely great and you'd never guess it was as old as it is. I...

Bye to Saturn

Well, it's been a nice run. Car's been great but needs an engine overhaul so will replace my 97SL with a "junker". Too costly to fix. Too bad because the car looks great! Inside and out.
Many,...
