Re: Saturn Dealerships no Haggling

be careful, saturncanuck is gonna report you cause his feelings got hurt!

Re: Warranty Question

saturn is saying no to 'their' extended warranty. but dealers often sell 3rd party extended warranties that they would be more than happy to offer you (they are a big money maker for the dealer)....

Re: Checking my oil

many cars now have extended drain intervals. even VWs in the mid 80s had a 7500 mile drain interval. what are you basing your BMW doubt on?
there are many people that run long between changes....

Re: Who's doing your maintenance and tires? Do you really know?

never had a problem in 20 years of car ownership. I was a aircraft wheel tech for a few years and I understand proper torque (DC10-30 main wheels are 210 ft/lbs, ALL done by hand! FAA doesn't allow...

Re: Who's doing your maintenance and tires? Do you really know?

I've never seen a tire shop that even HAS a torque wrench, much less use it. I understand the need for correct torque, but I would guess that almost every car on the road had nuts installed w/ an air...

I'm not going to refine my statement according to your interpretation. the 5252 was raised earlier, then mocked and misunderstood. I think...

Re: Time to eat crow (for me)

you're an idiot. if you convert back to US measurements, it'll still be 5252.

Re: Time to eat crow (for me)

you don't get it, do you?

a diesels hp rating is still calculated by figuring tq x rpm/5252. that's not theory, it's just the way it is. it doesn't make sense to say it makes more torque than...

Re: Time to eat crow (for me)

wrong.
it doesn't have to reach that RPM, but it is a fact by virtue of how HP is calculated. ALL power curves when plotted will see the 2 lines intersect at 5252. it may be theoretical, but it is...

Re: Rwd, Who Needs It .

cadillac was able to pull it off because their customers just want a big quiet boat, they could do that FWD or RWD. notice they are getting almost the whole line back to RWD. for others, you reach a...

no, so what? most people shop by monthly payment, not by msrp. my gen mngr quote ws, 'we're different, but not that different'. and, when running numberrs on a sale, they would say 'this isn't REAL...

Re: Need Help with Connecting Amp

you won't be happy w/ just 4 speakers and an amp. to hook up an amp, you need one w/ spaker level inputs, which is not ideal. aftermarket head units have line level outputs, which is a low level...

Re: GM Card Saturn Blues

howabout they abandon the ridiculous claim that they don't haggle, too? cause they do PLENTY of haggling, over the value of the trade and the interest rate. I agree, they should accept GM points.

Re: tune up on a 2003 Saturn ion sedan

how many miles? the ION motor has plugs good for 100,000. and most cars don't have plug wires or a distributor anymore. you can't just fiddle under the hood to figgure out what's wrong. anyways, how...

Re: Polymer vs Metal

figures you'd pick 2 american cars that had a rep for rusting, too bad they haven't been made in 30 YEARS!
that's a good reason for polymer; "yup, had me a vega that rusted, I dont want me no metal...

Re: How different would the S-Series be if they were Water-cooled?

would have looked different, needing more room for cooling fins, it would be even noiseier, dirtier, and, um, not as good.
air cooled engines are old technology, the bug in the US stopped a long...

Re: N/A Build any ideas or commits?

well. I ain't gonna 'commit' to anything, but I'll make a comment that anyone who tries a 'all-motor' saturn winds up being unhappy wit it. even SDA boosted their fomerley N/A coupe. you still won't...
