Re: 2004 vue

Well let's see there are the doors that will not open from the inside. Last time this happened, it cost me around $150 just in parts to fix the door. Now I have 3 of them that are doing the same...

2004 vue

Last weekend was the last time I will be driving my 2004 VUE. There are just too many issues to get repaired on a vehicle with 232,000 miles on it. It has been a great vehicle over the past 10...

Re: First problem in 4 years of ownership

Sounds like the same thing that happened to our 04' Vue. I wouldn't recommend driving the VUE anywhere else, the driving you have already done could have damaged your catalytic converter.

Re: Gear Linkage?

Turns out the cables are still good, but the connector (can't think of word they used) snapped. That would explain the pop I heard last night. Should be able to pick up our VUE tomorrow. Having...

Gear Linkage?

Looks like I shouldn't have bragged about hitting 200K miles the other day...

I was on my way home from the store tonight when I was coming up to a turn and went to downshift, and heard a pop and...

200,000 Miles!

Our '04 VUE turned over 200,000 miles today. Still running strong. Will be getting a tune up some time this month. Other than normal wear and tear items (brakes, battery, alternator, clutch), and...

Re: Door handle reviews

In our VUE the only door handles that still work correctly is the passenger side. I have not been able to get a good answer as to why they will not open the doors. I don't want to go digging inside...

Re: is it the clutch or the shifter cables

Sounds like the same thing that happened to ours. We had to replace both master, and slave cylinders and about 2 weeks later we had to replace the cables. Apparently when the clutch was going out,...

Re: Don't buy 2002-2005 Vue

We purchased a 2003 VUE with VTI and we didn't have it long. We only put 19K on ours before we starting having issues (well documented on these forums). Our transmission blew up once and IMO was on...

Re: sudden misfiring, loss of power and fan on

We had the same problem you are describing. I would stop driving it immediately. However since you have been driving it, hopefully your cat converter is not fried....

Re: Soft Clutch - Hard shifting

After we had a new clutch, and slave cylinder installed our shift cable were not far behind. When our cables were going bad, it felt very hard/tight to get the VUE to go into 2nd, 4th, and reverse.

Re: Tire Replacement Help

We have the Geolanders and have had good luck with them. The next set I purchase I thought about having the white letters on the outside as well. I seen a couple of VUE's around here that have the...

Re: Sell or Keep 2002 Vue

I would keep your VUE. Our 2004 currently has 176K on it and it is still going strong. We have had repairs (clutch, alternator, brakes) but nothing out of the ordinary. My goal was to not have a...

Re: How many miles?

Since 160K we have had a few issues. They are normal wear and tear items though. We have now replaced the clutch and master/slave cylinder and have put a new alternator in. We now have 176K miles...

Re: Intermittant Battery Light Problem....

I sort of assumed after 7 years it was probably time for a new battery anyways.

Re: Intermittant Battery Light Problem....

Ours did this same exact thing. Our Alternator went completely out about a week later. I assumed it was the battery since we were still on the original battery. But after putting in the new...

Goodbye '95 SC2

Finally made the decision to let my 1995 SC2 go. It just needed too many repairs. I just can't justify spending anymore money on it. It stopped running last week due to the starter. It also needs...

Shifter Cables

I am pretty sure the shifter cables on our VUE are wearing out. I have read a couple of threads on here about the cables and I have a couple of questions. Is this something you need to lift the VUE...

Re: Where have you gone in your VUE?

Our VUE has traveled quite a bit. Our longest trip has been from Columbus, OH to Topsail Island, NC. We have been to St. Louis, and all around Ohio. Right now we are at 168K miles and still going...

Re: Lost Clutch Last Night

Decided to go ahead and replace the clutch as well. So had the hydraulics, and clutch replaced and it's going to be around $1700. Should be home tomorrow. Mechanic said clutch itself cost $600. ...
