Re: Petition: Tell General Motors to Keep Saturn

What do you owe Toyota? What if the Japanese government owns stock in it?

Re: Petition: Tell General Motors to Keep Saturn

If you read GM's plan (, they don't say that Saturn is getting the Ax.

"Hummer has recently...

That's a f@%$*&g Saturn?

Maybe this is old news here, but this is pretty funny stuff. Autoblog just posted a link to a version of the 2006 Saturn ad that should have been run.

Might not be safe for work.

Re: What car will save Saturn?

Considering that Saturn won't make a dime off any Astra they sell, it cannot save the company, unless everyone who comes in for an Astra walks out with something else.

The Astra may start making...

Re: Did GM Eliminate The Need For A GL?

I am not sure this isn't going to happen. I just looked at the EPA's fuel economy guide and it lists a 4 cylinder, 4 speed model Aura as a 2008 model. It is also listed under the Aura's non-hybrid...

Re: Chrysler Reduces Minivan Prices

I could be wrong. I do know that Chrysler has more than one St. Louis plant.

Re: Chrysler Reduces Minivan Prices

The Escape wasn't as good as I thought. Even though I am aware of it, the 2008 Vs. 2007 numbers change still throw me off. The interesting thing though is the fact that the Outlook still gets...

Re: Chrysler Reduces Minivan Prices

I think this is an apples to oranges comparison.

I think previous posters are correct when they stated that lowered demand is lowering minivan prices. The sticker shock I had with minivans...

Re: 2.4 liter

I cannot speak to the noisy part, but it seems to me that what was speedy or acceptable in 2001, must be sluggish today. I have an L200 with only the 2.2 and have never felt it to be underpowered. ...

Re: Consumer Reports is out...

I may think CR is full of s**t, but I do not deny their influence. This is good news for GM.

Re: Detroit war products

Clearly you didn't notice that the poster above works at an assembly plant that you claim is impossible to build.

His is one of 2 plants built by GM in the last 6 years in Lansing, MI. ...

Thumbs Up Re: Saturn Aura reliability - how does it compare?

I think it's vital to break out the issues between serious and trivial. Kudos for implementing that.

If you look at most surveys, car A may be rated at 1 problem per year and car B at 2, but if...

Re: Dumb greenline question.....

I have never driven a greenline, so I don't know if you even "start" the car.

The whole point of the greenline is that the engine shuts off at idle. If there is no idle, it cannot sit there and...

Re: Rumour request; Astra Convertible?

Damn belted engines.

Timing chains are the biggest advantage GM's engines have over the competition. It's one of the reasons I like them.

Re: Rwd, Who Needs It .

I am guessing the rwd car won't be coming the Saturn. It just doesn't fit. It makes more sense as a Buick or even a Chevy (Chevelle anyone?)

One article I read said it might be in addition to...

Re: 07 production end

It's about what 84% American/Canadian content. That's darn good. The average American make is over 80% American content, the average Asian make is somewhere between 30 and 40%. (Cannot remember...

Re: Took a Aura GreenLine out for a test drive.

I just heard from a reliable source that the G-6 is about to be sold in a Hybrid version. It may get up to 36mpg hwy. They are already test building them.

Wonder if they will sell it in a...

Re: GM Memo????!!??

I am guessing it is something small. The engine in the XE is tried and true, so it would likely be something that differentiates the XE from other GM products with the same engine. My bet is its...

Re: Saturn Aura reliability - how does it compare?

I have wondered what would happen if you only plugged recalls into one of the many surveys out there. I am guessing some models would get worse stats than what is being reported by the owners.

Not sure they want to hear that.

In all seriousness, I find it interesting that I have heard more than one Canadian refer to the big three as "domestics" . I am pleased that Canada and the U.S....

When I used to sell Saturns, I we demonstrated the plastic panels by hitting it with a fist, (not knuckles) instead of running the risk of scratching the paint with a shoe.

If you hit it just a...
