Re: Rare white hot

Hmm, Competition Package sounds pretty cool. I may consider buying one and swapping in the LNF engine. I love sporting Saturns, because it catches people by surprise. Do you know around how much...

Re: REDICULOUSLY Creaky/Clunky Rear End

David's Saturn Repair (http://www.facebook.com/SaturnFix) can get your LS2's suspension back into top shape for a very reasonable cost.

Also, Jonnyferrari, we may have a '99 dark green SC2...

Re: Anyone have a conversion to run E-85?

Sometimes that car amazes me, when I break over 40 MPG without trying. It's probably one of those "good" ones that rolled out of the factory. One that was just right.

I actually drive kind of...

Re: Anyone have a conversion to run E-85?

Yeah, there are a lot of variables. There are even tweaks you can do to the engine (ignition system upgrades) that will help squeeze out even more energy from the ethanol (moreso than it would with...

Re: Anyone have a conversion to run E-85?

A member of this forum PM'ed me about a EToM kit (Ethanol Technology of Minnesota) that gets near or the same fuel mileage as regular gasoline. Imagine that!

Re: Anyone have a conversion to run E-85?

Also, I managed to take advantage of a tax incentive that paid for the "E85 conversion," so you can't deduct that from my expenses!

But get this:

"The biofuels industry has already created...

Re: Anyone have a conversion to run E-85?

I rarely get 15% decrease in fuel mileage, a lot of times it is merely 5%. And yes, I throw in a tank of regular every once in awhile, and the tanks are consistant (I've got them graphed in Excel).

Re: Anyone have a conversion to run E-85?

For anyone skeptical, here is a list of myths:

1. E85 Ethanol is corrosive
2. If I put E85 in my gas tank, it will eat it away.
3. If I put E85 ethanol in my non-Flex Fuel vehicle, it will ruin...

Re: Anyone have a conversion to run E-85?

Yes, I keep track of everything. I've saved over $1,000.

There are a few variables though. The pumps I buy from generally have a 21% price spread ($3.14 vs. $3.99) and I get a good amount of...

Re: Off-season tire storage

I remember being obsessed with ArmorAll when I was a little kid. I'd use it on my Timex watch like every hour, and I would saturate my stereo system with it. I still have both things actually lol. ...

Re: Anyone have a conversion to run E-85?

I'll tell you why I like to use E85 in my Saturn, now correct me if I am wrong in thinking this:

I have been running E85 in my '95 Saturn for a couple years and 50k miles and have not had any...

Re: GM on OIL USE - Very Interestng

Someone should start a "Who uses the most oil?" thread. :p My friend had an S-10 with the 4.3L engine and it used a quart before making it to the nearest gas station. Didn't take long to realize we...

Re: Why not do a "soak" with carb cleaner or similar?

GM's Saturn has been the talk of so many of my college economic classes, coming from the professors...

Re: thoughts on VH nightshad and tint on 96 wagon

In Wisconsin it is 50% front windows and 35% rear windows. I looked at 50% and it was a joke (like why waste your money?). I did 35% on the front windows, and am quite happy with it.

But here's...

Re: LSD in an automatic?

Powertrain swap yes, I won't tell you what it is or post pictures, because that would be...bad. But the performance 4T60-E didn't come with LSD, which is kind of surprising, so a Quaife is going in.

Re: Why not do a "soak" with carb cleaner or similar?

Actually I'm slightly surprised this happened to Saturn, they had great management methods going for them, unlike anywhere else in GM. Makes sense though, I can see it easily overlooked. What's...

Re: Why not do a "soak" with carb cleaner or similar?

I think there was good reason at the time. Oil film strength was crappy, and it was the only way to prevent premature ring wear. Or something like that.
