Re: Battery Dead. Jumped car and it died while driving

Does the battery light come on when the key is turned to the RUN position, or is it burned out?

You need to determine if the battery has a bad cell, or an alternator issue.

Battery connections...

I've used both silla and denso and either will do the job for a long time.

Re: random high idle that is 'fixed' by turning off key, restarting...

Its your call, $25-30 for an autozone solenoid, or seeing you have over 170K on what might be the original starter, I myself would just spend the $51 and get a whole new starter from dbelectrical...

Re: 1998 Saturn SL2 won't start when parked on driveway incline

As Alordofchaos commented on about the shop charging up the battery, maybe there is some very active battery drain going on. Need to find if there is a parasitic current still flowing when the car is...

Re: 1998 Saturn SL2 won't start when parked on driveway incline

Your's is probably not what my old 1991 Dodge Dakota had wrong with it, but the no-start-until-after-the-tow-truck-arrived was the same issue with my truck.
Replaced lots of stuff, both me and a...

Re: 1998 Saturn SL2 won't start when parked on driveway incline

Is it possible that the cat is really clogged?
If you removed the front oxygen sensor (near the radiator fan motor area) and then tried starting, if then there is no back pressure to build up, it...

Re: EDR (black box) and airbag info, '96 sl2

We're on the list of cars with EDR's, but I haven't yet found the depth of info you need. Surely someone here will chime in.

Re: Questions about repairs after collision

$5K ?? Looks repairable to me for a lot less. Sadly, insurance companies just don't want to deal with car repairs much these days. But then, I don't live in California and that's a whole different...

Re: Flickering fog lights

Just last Saturday on my hay trailer, both rear turn signals stopped working, but did light up with truck parking lights ON.
I found both bulbs had burnt out the second filament at seemingly the...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Copied from the Amazon link, "BRIGHTEST & NO WARNING TICKET: ZES Chips,50 watts/bulb", 100w per set.

Not going to belabor the point, but lumens are lumens and are a measurement of light output,...

Re: Flickering fog lights

Presumably they are not LEDs, nor are the bulbs old, then I would inspect the both the socket for corrosion and / or the wiring leading to them.

You did not mention what car you are working on but if its a Saturn S series, then DBelectrical has the best starter for your car. Excellent product, free shipping and everyone I have from them has...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Pitcher, y'all must have entered a typo about lumens.
A standard 60w incandescent bulb is 800 lumens, a 75w one is 1,100, so you might be confused IF you believe a SilverStar Ultra bulb has less...

Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Say, Pitcher, have you tried the new LEDs on a dark country road yet?
In the past 3 years, I used very similar LEDs on my SW2 and LW200 cars.
I could see the light was brighter white, but they did...

Re: SL1 automatic transmission issues

Only use Dexron III compatible fluid.

Never any other Dexron fluid, read the fine print and you will see that Saturn's are excluded from using these Dexron VI universal fluids.

Re: Smoke when taking off from stop light

FWIW, my chevy Avalanche has 190K on it.
Went to burning oil at about 1-1/2 qt per 800 miles.
It was so bad, whenever I let off gas then accelerated it blew huge blue clouds out the tail....

Re: 99 SL2 Auto Trans Skips 4-3 Downshift

Actually, it sounds like this is the normal way the automatic will downshift. It may seem a bit accentuated, but I'd say it was only because with your foot off the gas, and your slow descent to 25...

Re: what sensor (if that's what it is) did I damage on my 2001 SC2 Coupe?

Yup, that's it.
Be sure the connector pins are clean when assembling.
You should only use a 1/4" ratchet (not 3/8") on any of these sensors, especially whenever you do the ECTS (coolant)...

Re: Possible leaking heater core?

Do you not use the car very much, only a few miles a week?

If you only have to top it off once a year, I would leave it alone until AND IF something were to really develop a leak.

Still GREEN...
