Re: Used transmission installed, but shift pattern is wrong.

And you're not getting any trouble codes? Btw - you never said what original symptoms you had that prompted the tranny replacement.

PS - if you are actually stuck in 2nd gear, that could mean...

Re: Honest 3.0 AWD transmission fluid advice sought

There is no "pan" to drop and no filter to change unless you want to remove and disassemble the tranny. See here for a simple 'drain and fill' . . ....

Re: 1999 sw2 transmission

Your Tranny shop is wrong. Maybe you should find another shop.

Re: 2003 Vue with a serious vibration

When this happened on my '03 it turned out to be a bad Brake Hose that didn't let the Caliper release. The dragging Brakes cause heat build-up, warped the Rotor which caused some serious vibration.

Re: 1999 sw2 transmission

Make absolutely sure you are getting an MP7 by verifying the stamping on the Bell Housing . . .

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

That sensor is here - it's the same part as the VSS on the opposite side - you could try swapping them . . .

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

Are you sure those aren't historical codes? Can you clear those codes and do another test drive? I'm skeptical whether carsaturn can really bench test a VB.

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

I don't think the OP has tried to read his codes yet.

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

I wouldn't say that. May mean the mechanical part of the VB is bad. You had Reverse with the original VB. Isn't carsaturn gonna send you another VB?

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

Whenever you replace a VB or Solenoid, the PCM has to relearn the "adaptives". After you install a different VB, you will get some harsh shifting until this is accomplished. Here is a page from the...

Just leave the VB Harness disconnected.

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

I don't think any of those things would cause you to lose Reverse. The Manual Valve and Clutch Priority Valve will give you Reverse in the event of a total electrical failure . . ....

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

That Detent is only there to hold the Shifter in the Gear that was selected. The Range Selector Switch that's on the shaft of that Detent Plate tells the PCM what Gear is selected so it knows what...

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

Yeah - if you didn't mess around with your shift cable or range switch adjustments, I wouldn't look at that Detent as the source of the problem.

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

To be honest, you're the first person I've noticed to get a VB from them.

This is not an electrical problem. Reverse is engaged mechanically. It should work even if you leave the VB Harness...

Re: 01 SL1 Automatic: Won't Shift Gears

It's very rare that one of these TAATs can't be fixed. You might need a new VB, but you want to check other things before jumping on that. You might get away with just replacing a Solenoid or 2 or...

Re: New valve body now no reverse!

Since it's not the Nut (as I suspected since you had Reverse before swapping VBs), you can hope it's the VB you got from carsaturn (which is not one of our recommended suppliers) because if it's...
