Re: Opinion about the condition of my subframe? Pics..

Yeah that looks very light, no need to stress about it. Just keep future rust off and keep an eye on its condition to make sure it doesn't spread any further.. Not to brag but in Arizona (the states)...

Re: Mystery coolant leak

I like this one ^^^ BUT he did say he's found a puddle once. When I changed out my lower radiator hose a while back I tightened it juuuust a little too lax, causing a slow leak that created no puddle...

Re: Where does this grounding cable go?

You know what that makes sense because I did change my stereo out about 3 months ago and if I go over a large bump my radio sometimes cuts out for a split second.

Where does this grounding cable go?

Popped open my fuse box on the passenger side and this little buddy popped out with it. I imagine it is a grounding wire. Where do you guys think it ACTUALLY goes?

Re: Would replacing my air filter improve my mpg?

Yes, improper tire pressure makes a noticeable difference. Remedy the issue and retest.

Re: Smoke when taking off from stop light

Don't waste your time with the temperature sensor. If it's truly BLUE smoke and not WHITE smoke, you have an issue with burning oil. Common with the s series. I suggest you take a good look at this...

Re: How can 2019 cars be as good as my SW2?

What cars of the past at a comparable size to modern cars (AKA compact to compact comparison) had more room? The only reason I could think of for older cars to have more room is because they had very...

Re: What's the " best" year S-series?

Referring more to this rear design of the 2nd gen, which yes, I think is uglier. The front of the 3rd gen is also my favorite actually. That's the good thing about opinions though. You don't have to...

Re: What's the " best" year S-series?

I notice how you didn't bold the last part of the sentence containing the word "mostly".

Re: What's the " best" year S-series?

Unpopular opinion but the 2nd gen is ugly. Probably the ugliest of all. I would say the best year Saturn is 2001 SL with manual doors, windows, and transmission because, well that's my car! Also the...

Re: Random Clutch Pressure Problem

It actually isn't too bad. If you are even somewhat mechanically inclined I suggest doing it yourself. Just buy the master and slave cylinder ASSEMBLY for ~$100 (much easier to install the whole...

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

This morning I took off the rod that connects the master cylinder to the pedal and moved the pedal around to see what was popping. Didn't find anything and after I put it all back together it popped...

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

Yeah and I should have inspected the quality of what I received more thoroughly. I did not know much about clutch hydraulics until now but looking back there were a couple red flags that would have...

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

I had a LUK assembly that I then replaced with a Duralast assembly. After taking a look at both of them I noticed a few things different. One, the Duralast master and slave cylinder were made with...

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

UPDATE: So I bit the bullet and replaced the master/salve assembly with a new one. No more issues with shifting! Went on a test drive and everything went well except for the 2 times I thought reverse...

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

I suppose that I got a pretty good consensus that what I'm experiencing is not really good or normal. My final question is if I leave this as is and just make sure to always fully depress the clutch...

Couldn't tell you. I didn't do it myself, but looking back at it I kind of wish I did.... Time is hard to come by.

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

Yes, I remember that from the beginning of the post, I was mentioning that now, after having driven it for more than a couple miles, I noticed that my initial post may have been slightly exaggerated....

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

For all of you living in the Phoenix, AZ metro area. $1k for a good condition SL1 with only 140k (supposedly) miles. Not a terrible deal I say.

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

Now perhaps I was not explaining how it operated quite right. You have to push the pedal down 100% to get it to go in smoothly (as in normal operation). Even 99% doesn't seem to get it in gear...

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

UPDATE: So I tried to do the whole wire thing and it wasn't going so well. None of my homemade contraptions were accurate enough so I just went ahead and followed this procedure to bleed it anyway:...

Re: New Clutch, Possible Issues?

Out of town right now. I'll be back with another update after I try the wire test later today. To answer the other questions about what brand of parts I used, I used the Exedy clutch kit and a LUK...
