Re: Eureka! 2 MAF Sensors, 3 Computers, 1 throttle body, and several sensors later!!

Re: 2004 L300 windshield needed.. Opel compatible or no?

On seeing a Vauxhaul (Opel) Vectra B in the UK last fall I was interested to see that the greenhouse appears to be identical to the L-Series. I would not be surprised if the windshield is identical....

Re: 2000-01 L series OEM part number needed!

Mine had one of these anti-lift jobs on the driver's side when I bought it, but it is long gone. I don't miss it. Universal ones work fine.

Re: Buying a 2000 LS1 with some problems

I hope you are allowing for the repair costs in you purchase offer. The fact the odometer isn't working is a clue that the BCM is probably failing. There is now the possibility of a repair at BBA...

Re: Window switch not working

There was a thread on this forum detailing the dismantling and cleaning of the switch, but I don't see it from searching just now. I tried this with little success. But the switch is about $50 at...

Re: Brakes feel that they do not grip well

I generally get wear from 2 sets of pads from a set of rotors. I do not resurface. I replace them when warped or under the minimum thickness. Note that the FSM does not endorse resurfacing brake...

Re: Dan's L200 Projects

That splash shield is what traps the leaves, maple keys, etc, against the subframe and causes it to rot away. Best removed and discarded (mine are).

Re: BCM replacment options.

When I Googled that number it came up for BBA Reman in Taunton MA. I have used this company for both a rebuilt throttle body and a driver information display for my Saab 9-5. I found them to be very...

Re: Slow coolant leak

We used universal heater hose and worm clamps. These cars are well into beaterland and redneck fixes are fine.

Re: Turn signal switch

The LW1 I purchased a couple of years ago for $1000 had this problem. It turned out to be caused by a worn out turn signal switch that became stiff to operate. This resulted in breaking of the cancel...

Re: Please save me from myself, timing chain issue

I think you have found out the hard way that the new tensioner(s) don't fit the older movable chain guides. No, you can't buy one to replace the original. I have posted this information before, as I...

Re: 2001 2.2 Timing Confirmation

Um... I don't see anything in your pix that tell me the engine is mistimed. The timing is checked with the crank sprocket mark at 5:00 position with #1 piston at TDC and the appropriate coloured link...

Re: 2001 2.2 Timing Confirmation

You need to read completely through the Sticky thread at the top of this forum. A few of us have done this job, and it is pretty straightforward, but there are a bunch of tips there. There are parts...

Re: Need advice about my L-series wagon...PLEASE!

Be sure to have someone go over the suspect areas of the frame with the point of a body hammer. This will expose weak areas very quickly. See my photos in the reference thread (Warning-....) If not...

Re: WTB: Center console

I used some small furniture hinges (about 1-1/2" wide) and some flat head sheet metal screws into holes drilled in the plastic. Works a charm. As a bonus, it now has an inherent "stop" in the open...

Re: Cruise Control Brake Switch

Just a hunch here. Could there be a wire chafed and grounding. There are several moving parts under the dash that can rub on the wires.

Re: 02 Sensor Monitor not running, then pending P0128

I bet that one fits the S-Series. Confusion between the S and the L is epidemic at auto parts counters, with people posting their cars for sale, and with people posting to this forum. I make sure I...
