Re: What did you do to your S-Series today...

Pull up on your cup holders to remove them. There is a small light attached to the inside edge on the shifter side. It just twists in and sometime it falls out. It's there; on all GEN2 S Series...

Re: Saturn Craigslist Deal of the Day!

This would probably clean up well. Only needs an engine and of coarse a manual transmission to swap in. It is well optioned and I think the exterior colour is actually Black Gold. If I only had...

Re: New SC2

To do it right you would need the PCM and it would need to be from a similarly equipped donor as per your cars options minus automatic transmission of coarse. They say you can use the automatic and...

Re: Whats your MPG?

The ECTS and IAT is the same part. Yes that is it. The OEM part number is 21025106 and it's actually less expensive then the ACDelco on Rockauto.com

Re: 1998 SL1 rear bumper skin compatibility with other models?

96-99 sedan bumper only as I understand it. Coupes are definitely not compatible. I don't think wagons would be either.

You're looking for 96-99 SL2 bumper.

Re: 97 sl2 ignition switch

Did you look at this RichPin video as a reference >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yt8wnj4qHoc

It specifically mentions re-positioning the part at the bottom of the housing and at 3:29 shows the...

Re: SC2 Side Window Gear Box Jammed

I would drill out the torx head on the door panel fasteners and replace them rather then trying to turn them and risk breaking the door panel tabs.

I've saved a set of them from my parts car...

Re: 97 sl2 ignition switch

He stated the ignition cylinder was from a 99 so that is the same as the 97 (both GEN2). Yes the GEN3 ignition cylinder is a different cylinder.

Re: Saturn SL3

It's been discussed before. It does not exist other than on paper. It was essentially an idea for sedan with a coupe nose. Read through these threads...

Re: Would this be enough to keep the engine stable while replacing crossmember/subfra

It doesn't get better than POR15 followed by something to protect the POR15 from UV (anything in a rattle can).

Re: The exhaust pipe issues

The flange orientation seems to be a common issue. When my exhaust shop encountered this they cut the pipe, rotated it until it was the correct orientation and then welded it back together. This is...

Re: Seat belt experts needed...compatible years..

I answered that question in your other thread. Here is a link to that post >> http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2308265&postcount=7.

1999 through 2002 uses the same part. If you...

Re: New addition to the family (96 SL2)

That's a great find. I would have tried to negotiate them throwing in all the parts to convert it to manual transmission to get around the $1000 minimum. You never know, they may have went for it...

Re: Life span of water pump.......?

Most times it is the same part in the box and they just surcharge to cover off any warranty replacements. Most owners will not keep the receipt, forget about the warranty or sell the vehicle before...

Yah, it'll show the same as it shows in your file manager if you have thumbnails enabled. You'd have to open it on your computer and rotate it and re-save if before uploading. ...

Re: Life span of water pump.......?

They usually give some pretty good "tells" before they fail completely. Weeping coolant and/or a squeak noise. I wouldn't worry about it but do keep an awareness of it. There are some good...

Re: Door wires

Did you check the switches? Does it not work with both the central switch pod and the door switch? Is there power to the connector?

Re: Jacking Up Hockey Puck

I've used the slotted hockey puck on the pinch welds and flip it over to lift the back by the center of the rear subframe. I find it kind of finicky to get it positioned on the pinch welds and...

Re: New to Saturn

Regarding brake vibration. Double check the lateral runout on the hub to see if it is within spec. Also check the lateral runout of the rotor. If it is out that will accelerate uneven rotor wear...

Re: Detonation due to Carbon Buildup

The best US MPG I've managed in the 20K mi I've owned my current SL2 is 41.3. In my SL1 it was 45.2. You're doing pretty good if you're getting 45!
