Re: 05 Ion 1, manual trans issues

Tell her to check her pedal itself. The crappy clutch pedal in the Ion wears out against the cmc rod and you slowly lose clutch disengagement which can cause the above mentioned symptoms

Re: Preparing to do a header and full exhaust, what to expect?

We didn’t check on modifying the thermostat, it was one of those things where we just instinctively made it all fit. I used 2.25” tubing for the entire system

Re: 19bonestock88’s 2004 ION-2 sedan “Green Line” build

Allowing air to break more cleanly away from the bumper cover instead of turbulently over the large radius that is on our bumpers

Re: 19bonestock88’s 2004 ION-2 sedan “Green Line” build

It’s worth noting that I had made a couple changes to the aero in the intervening time. New wheel covers, new rear skirts and new grille blocking...

Re: Preparing to do a header and full exhaust, what to expect?

I wanted to update this, forgot to lol. We ended up installing the header I got from eBay from blackhorse racing. It didn’t fit at first but we reshaped the number three exhaust runner to clear the...

Re: 19bonestock88’s 2004 ION-2 sedan “Green Line” build

Got the trans installed but ran into another slight problem I hadn’t anticipated- the 2004 Ion clutch isn’t compatible with the 2009 Cobalt transmission. So it’s getting a new clutch now. Hopefully...

Re: Stealth intake for 03-04 ION

Since the iOS 13 update comes with a built in image resizer I can actually post pics of my intake setup lol

Yeah the stock setup is fairly restrictive, I haven’t got that problem with my 3.5”...

Re: 19bonestock88’s 2004 ION-2 sedan “Green Line” build

I don’t know how, but I’ve neglected my build thread for 8 months?!

So I ended up doing some work on the car over the summer, though I have to figure out how to post pics of it all. I finished my...

Re: Shocks / Struts for 2007 Saturn 3 2.4

They don’t list differences between FE1 and FE2, but what I did was jump directly to the FE5 suspension (used ACDelco brand). If you’re wanting quick struts you can’t do FE5 without mixing and...

Re: Stealth intake for 03-04 ION

I wanted to update this, as I’ve installed the new air box lid, as well as opening up the inlet in the bottom of the air box base itself... more power? I’ve no idea to be honest

I’ll upload pics...

Preparing to do a header and full exhaust, what to expect?

So I’ve had some intermittent exhaust related problems with the car, decided the best way to fix it is to replace everything from the exhaust port, out to the bumper cover. I’m all set to do the pipe...

Re: Unplugged IACV, no fault code?!

The PCV tube was just removed from the factory air intake tube and vented to open air... I disconnected the idle air control circuit recently... maybe the actuator for the valve was sticky or maybe...

Re: Unplugged IACV, no fault code?!

Throttle was cleaned when I did the port and polish about a year ago. Since I vent PCV to atmosphere there is no oily gunk in my TB

Unplugged IACV, no fault code?!

Basically the car has had a “rev hang” as you shift for the longest time and I seen someone else work around it by unplugging the IACV at idle and I tried it with success, or at least it doesn’t rev...

Re: Replaced Fuel Injectors....Do I Need to do Fuel Trim or Reprogram ECM???

I’ve never heard of a spark plug break in, and as long as you went same size on the injectors it will be totally fine, the PCM will very quickly learn the difference between old and new

Re: Front led turn signals

There is no flasher relay in the Saturn Ion. The BCM controls the flasher circuits, and as such the only way to have LED signal bulbs is to either live with the hyperflash or add a resistor to the...

Re: Finally the proud owner of a REDLINE

No lift shift is a pretty nice feature; it was added to the LNF SS to keep the turbo spooled as you change gears, and would help the IRL a similar amount (plus the SC scream would never stop), though...
