Re: headliner?? Where the crap do i get one?

No problem, just get some headliner material and that 3M adhesive and you're good to go. Main thing is clean, clean, clean ALL the old material and don't damage the fiberglass shell. Relined one a...

Re: 1994 SL2 starting issues.

Have the battery and charging system tested, if good, suspect the starter-again. Many remanufactured units would do better as a doorstop. They claim it has a lifetime warranty, but who eats the...

Re: fuel filter and fuel pump

Well, I replaced the pump in a '92 SL2 a few years back and my thinking was that is the job you want to do once and not look at it for a long time, if ever. That said, I learned the original was...

Re: Water pump R/R

Just did a '92 SL2, not too bad, just tight space, didn't move compressor, but thought about it. Biggest worry was the gasket slipping while installing the pump. I clean and put Never Seize on all...

1992 SL2 Coolant Leak

Coolant on right engine cradle, but extremely difficult to see source. I'm 99% sure it's the pump. Anyone disagree? Any other ideas? Also looks like the stamped steel pump should be avoided. ...

Re: Mtr Mount bolts sheared off / clicking noise?

Just replaced the upper mount on a 1992 SL2, went to Auto Zone and surprise, it was the non-frowny solid mount and it came with studs. Probably won't last as long as OEM, but for now vibration is...

Re: Rear Brake Line

Cola, Hmmm, looks like it runs across the rear, or if the brakes are split diagonally, then it must run from the front.

Rear Brake Line

Never had a steel brake line rust out on any of my junks until now. Anyone know the size of the line that runs between the rear calipers on a 1992 SL2?
Thanks.

Re: Flood Help Plz!!!!

I guess if the water was a considerable depth like up the door panels, put a fork in it, it's done. Auto electronics are not marine electronics and that was dirty water that leaves behind residue...

Re: 96 SL1 won't start when warm

Check fuel pressure including leak down. Had a 1992 SL2 with the same symptoms. Would start good when cold but had to crank and crank when hot. Was leaning toward CPS, fuel pressure passed barely,...

Re: Redoing headliner - question(s)!

JoAnn's Fabrics does carry headliner material, but it may not be in stock at that store. Took about 6 months before I found it. Only adhesive I could find was 3M Super Trim Adhesive, so far, so...

Re: Out of solutions

Did you check the fuel pump "hold" pressure or leak down rate. Have a '92 SL2 that started to need a lot of cranking to light when hot. Suspected the pump, had good static and run pressure. Pump...

Re: Riddle me THIS? Windshield washer pump problem

Would be nice to check voltage with the pump in the circuit to see if the load from the pump causes the voltage to drop considerably especially if it's controlled by the wiper board. Try backprobing...

Re: Saturn SL2 compressor

Get a second opinion that it is indeed the compressor. An A/C leak usually leaves a oily residue where the refrigerant is leaking. Successfully repairing an A/C system requires special tools and...

Re: Fuel Pump - Did I break it?

Just replaced the pump unit in a '92 SL2. Still have the old one, but probably not worth the shipping if you wanted to use the housing. I chose to replace with a Bosch assembly instead of trying to...

Re: New here / 1997 Saturn blowing fuses

Had the same issue with a 1992, drove me nuts for two weeks until I isolated the harnesses and determined issue was with rear harness, specifically the bulbs or sockets. Changed bulbs and all was...

Re: crack in tranny (by drain plug)

I don't think there's a easy or cheap solution, but I would give JB Weld a try. It's a 2 part epoxy and I've used it with success. The headache is going to be getting that trans. case clean and keep...

Re: Out of Ideas...???

Not sure about that model, but check the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose for fuel. If so, the diaphram is leaking and allowing gas to be sucked into the motor and I guess depending where the...

Re: 1992 Saturn Intermittent Hard Start

Thanks for the suggestions and yes I did replace the ECTS and connector. Most times it will light right up, but sometimes requires a lot of cranking, but no black smoke and don't have to clear it...

1992 Saturn Intermittent Hard Start

1992 Saturn Twin Cam motor, 150K mi., at times requires excessive cranking to start. Most times it'll light right up, but sometimes it will require 20 sec. of cranking to start. No codes, fuel...

Another Alternator? 1992 SL2

Other day the Batt. light came on followed by the Shift to D2 light and I believe ABS. Trans. didn't want to shift either. Let it sit all day, it fired right up and VOM showed 14.4v at the battery,...

Re: Alternators: NAPA vs. Duralast?

Find a local rebuilder instead of a chain store reman. Remember, lifetime warranty only covers the part, YOU eat the labor. Sometimes a local guy can rebuild the alternator with heavy duty parts,...

Re: Anyone Use Moog Lower Control Arm?

Wow, if I recall MOOG has been around a long time, anyway I just replaced one on a 1992 and searched until I found a TRW. Not easy finding good parts anymore, sure they offer lifetime warranty, but...

Re: Ignition Wires?

Speaking from experience with aftermarket plugs and wires on a 1992 SL2, I would DEFINATELY go with Saturn plugs and wires.
