It looks like the transmission temperature sensor. It’s the same part number as the coolant temperature sensor.

Try checking for a stuck open EGR valve. They get full of carbon over time. Take it off and see if you can push the pintle in and see if it comes back out freely.

Maybe you are talking about the air dam deflector “flap” that hangs down. It is held on with 4 springs so it can bend in either direction without breaking.

Well I guess if they break, I may drill holes and use those plastic rivets with the center you can push in to lock in place.

It sounds like a missing ground somewhere. Check the wiring, there’s a break somewhere.
