Re: A definite increase in the number of IONs in the Maine/NH Seacoast area

What a difference horsepower (and a manual transmission) makes....

Mom brought the Ion back last night, she said she had a lot of fun driving it, that it was nice to be back in a manual...

Re: A definite increase in the number of IONs in the Maine/NH Seacoast area

I miss my Ion today....

Mom wanted to get her first oil change in her Astra XR 5DR AT, so we simply swapped cars, she took my Ion (2.2L Ion2 MT) and went to work, I took her Astra and went to work...

Re: Found out what happened to my first Saturn today...

Sorry to hear of the passing of another great old Saturn, but, the car did it's job, protecting the occupant(s) at the cost of it's own life....

the fact that an S series could hold up to the...

A definite increase in the number of IONs in the Maine/NH Seacoast area

I just realized that I'm seeing a lot more IONs in the Coastal Maine/NH area than I remember seeing in the past year or so, today only, I saw about four "in the wild"

Kinda' ironic that the ION...

Re: De Lorean............? Hmmmm......

Well, as long as the new car has the Flux Capacitor and Mr. Fusion Home Energy System as standard equipment, I wouldn't mind, heck, I think a HoverConversion would be fun too, just make sure the top...

Re: Could Penske Still Buy Saturn?

I fear that it's too little, too late now, the general public now sees Saturn as a "Dead" brand, and aside from bargain-hunters, it seems nobody's interested in Saturn anymore

At the dealership I...

Re: Saturn Aura XR Redone,lol.

I'm not a fan of cosmetically abused cars, I prefer to keep mine stock looking, but your Aura looks quite nice, nice, understated job

I'd black out the brake calipers, black out the billet grille,...

I'm guessing they'll listen when one of the two following things happen...

Re: Most effective means for voicing our displeasure to GM over the Saturn debacle?

That's kinda like three examples I like to use...

The Chrysler 318 V8 engine, called the "Mistake Motor" because they made the "mistake" of making it *too* reliable...

the old Hewlett-Packard...

Re: Will Your Next New Car be a General Motors Vehicle?

I've just fallen in love with another car and I'm seriously considering taking the hit in resale value and trading in the Ion, even though I love it....

Re: Report: GM Stopped Production of all Saturns Last Thursday

Maybe I'm being too cynical, but think back to the EV-1 situation, GM took back a fleet of perfectly functioning, usable cars and simply crushed them, they didn't seem too woried about the financial...

Re: Snow tires!

I've driven on the high-tech snow tires, and on the blocky traditional snow tires, here's what I found

High-Tech- wears slightly better on dry pavement, handles a little more like summer tires,...

Re: Most effective means for voicing our displeasure to GM over the Saturn debacle?

As long as we're playing the "what line would you axe" game, here's my take on how GM *should* have restructured;

Chevy; keep it, they're GM's "bread and butter" line, have the line start with the...

Re: Most effective means for voicing our displeasure to GM over the Saturn debacle?

Excellent post, plus, doing this is the cheapest option too ;)

Unfortunately, I think I just found the perfect replacement for the Ion, I work at a local Saturn dealer now, and we got a Suzuki...

Most effective means for voicing our displeasure to GM over the Saturn debacle?

I've been thinking, what would be the most effective means of voicing the Saturn owner's displeasure with GM's treatment (and shuttering) of the Saturn brand (short of calling/emailing them)

Bear...

Re: Looking down the road, who will Saturn owners buy car from now?

I'm actually glad to hear that Ford is doing better, the more I think about it, the more I'm feeling more favorably disposed to giving them another try when it's time for another new vehicle....

Re: Looking down the road, who will Saturn owners buy car from now?

It depends on what manufacturers market a small Diesel hatchback (like the old VW Golf TDI), that'd be my first choice, a small diesel sedan would be the next choice, after that, probably a ToySanDa,...

Re: Penske Deal Dead

Agreed, this is a most dissapointing development, I hope this is nothing more than Penske playing "hardball" with GM, to get them to capitulate to his wants, hopefully, the deal isn't...

Re: What is it about the Aura that calls to me?

Well, I had decent experiences with Chrysler products ('92 Dodge Shadow, '98 Neon) up until my '02 Neon, which suffered a pretty bad structural rotting, and the dealership and Chrysler were unwilling...

Re: What is it about the Aura that calls to me?

Sorry, no ford products for me, one '88 Escort Pony (with a whopping 88 HP of four cylinder fury) was enough for me, it earned the name "The Murphy's Lawmobile" for a reason, I imagine ford has...

I can't figure it out, I've been working for my local Saturn dealership for three weeks now, I've driven the entire product line, the Astra, the Aura (both engines), the Vue, the Outlook, and the Sky...

Re: New Renault Fluence Provides More Insight into What Could Become Saturn

This gets a resounding "Meh" from me, uninspired styling (then again, my Ion-2 is no looker either....) and generally seems to have a "Corrolla-esque" blandness to it

My mother picked up a '08...

My first year with my Ion (well, a year and a month or two)

I've had my '07 Ion 2 for a little over a year now, and have nothing much to report, the car's been a stellar little machine

Miles driven; 10,500ish original miles
Mileage; 28 MPG mostly City...

I guess my fuel mileage isn't as bad as I thought

Now that I'm past the 5,000 mile point in the Ion, it's beginning to show it's true mileage, and while I'm not thrilled, I'm not dissapointed either....

My commute is 9 miles each way, on mostly...
