Re: No Transmission Engagement

Think again. Cold engine idle should be around 1200 rpm, gradually dropping as coolant reach operating temps. Warm idle should be between 650-800 rpm. Your idle at 500 suggests the idle air control...

Re: Dirty throttle body = stalling, but why?

Something's wrong. Ac compressors always loads an engine down. With EFI systems, programming in the pcm automatically bumps idle rpm 100-200 rpm up (depending on engine size) to maintain the same...

Re: No start no crank

Easiest way to tell if a fuel pump is faulty or not; borrow a known good fuel pressure gauge from AutoZone or Advance Auto, connect it to the fuel test valve on the fuel rail and simply turn on...

Re: 2004 L-300 headlight upgrade?

Thanks for the detailed info. I'm aware of the reverse beam pattern hence the cutoff on the bottom of the light housing to restrict light output to the upper beam pattern, the distinct horizontal...

Re: CVT trouble leads to Vue not starting

Again, the serpentine drive belt is not a timing belt. It is simply a drive belt to power accessory items. The only timing belts that are truly timing belts are the ones using teeth, not the...

Re: 2004 L-300 headlight upgrade?

I may not be clear in asking questions related to your modified low beam projector light housings. I replaced my halogen lamps with hid lamps without any modifications. No one has ever flashed their...

Re: CVT trouble leads to Vue not starting

Timing belt or timing chain? Are you confusing the serpentine drive belt used for the alternator, power steering pump and ac compressor with the timing chain hidden behind the timing cover? 2.2L...

Re: 2004 L-300 headlight upgrade?

soulsurvives, I have to ask, does folding down the cutoff shield and blocking the opening with epoxy change this low beam into a high beam, dispersing light everywhere as a high beam light does? My...

Re: No start no crank

Examine drawings below. After removing the O2 sensor, the threaded hole shows exhaust to leave, before the catcon. You'll have to disconnect wiring to the sensor then use either an O2 sensor socket...

Re: No start no crank

Mark your new battery with month and year. Scratch it on or use a permanent marker on a clean part of the battery so you can see at a glance when it was bought. It'll come in handy down the road...

Re: Is New O2 Sensor the simple fix for P0442 and P0133 Combo

From post #3, It should have read as the error code is about the sensor, nothing else. P0442 has no bearing on P0133. P0442 is about a small leak in the evap system.

If your car has rust from...

Re: Dirty throttle body = stalling, but why?

You're missing some things not discussed at length with EFI systems.

The idle air control valve is the PCMs way of adjusting all idle speeds from subzero cold to desert heat along with ac use and...

Re: 2007 Ion 2 5spd. Surging, high engine load

With drive by wire systems, it would have been wise to record baseline values when the car was new or when a reader was purchased and the car was running fine without issues. After values are...

Re: Dirty throttle body = stalling, but why?

Unless you're willing to set aside time to learn how EFI systems replaced old school carburetors and distributors with all electronic EFI systems, a dirty throttle body only addresses physical issues...
