Re: Napa 30# 134a for $120

It was fairly similar to this one on ebay.
https://www.ebay.com/i/123733504516?chn=ps

Nice feature was that there was no fan at all, totally quiet (except when the Klixon sucked in and turned its...

Re: Napa 30# 134a for $120

Talk about a difficult time getting special refrigerant.....
My kitchen refrigerator was a 1948 GE one, and up until it went through my house fire in 2016, it still worked great, never had leaked in...

Re: 96 SW2 turns but NO START

And you never pulled the plugs out to see if they were wet from fuel flooding?
If it happens again, skip the ether, and just hold the gas pedal to the floor, which should (after a lot of cranking)...

Re: Air conditioner barely blowing.

The Deaeration line is the small tubing attached to the passenger side top of the coolant reservoir.

With a cool engine, unscrew the coolant cap.

Start the engine, and stand so that you will...

Re: Air conditioner barely blowing.

Ok, lets explore about the overheating you experience (and we have gotten off the original conversation track).
So, you sit in traffic and the needle heads at or into the red zone.

Does your...

Re: Blue Ox Base plate

They are $475 from Rvupgradstore.

Seems to me someone within the last 8 months had just purchased a Saturn that...

Re: Will switching from conventional to synthetic hurt my SL2?

RobertGary1.
Funny, if that comment was correct, then how come I don't recall synthetic oil being sold in common stores 25+ years ago?
Amsoil was available, but only through their dealers...

Re: “Wup Wup Wup” Noise Front Left

Experiment.
Jack up the front end and spin the tires.
Then, if nothing is noticed, put front end back down and jack up the rear end and spin the tires.
Even tho it is evident at 30+ mph, maybe...

Re: Wireing question / starting problem

Welcome to the Forum Mouse57!!

Re: Losing coolant over time

In your second photo, the coolant appears to be orange, not green.
Is your car on DexCool?

How many miles on the car, and do you see any frothy stuff on the engine oil cap threads?

Re: First Post - Replacing body pieces

Hi and welcome to the S-series Forum!
This work is doable.
Question, was this a glancing blow/sideswipe?
Any damage to the steering components or suspension parts on the drivers side?
Keep us...

Re: Electric Trunk Release with Key Fob

^^^ that link says that there is a distinct change from 1997 to 1998, it says:
Trunk release will be mechanical, not electrical.
If so, that fob trunk release is not an option, just use the lever.

Re: What to expect to pay for an s series

I would really check this car out. The owner seems to be a stickler for details, however; in the facebook listing, at the top it shows automatic trans, but in the details, says 5-speed. And, to be...

Re: Power to AC clutch

Ok, you may have temporarily resolved the problem, but just adding more R134a will not solve this for the long run.

Use a black light (UV) and locate where the refrigerant leaked out, have the...

Re: Is there a difference between Duralast and Rodatech motor mounts?

Update, the ebay seller just let me know they have dropped their OEM TAM by $40, to $129.99 (only 3 Saturn originals left).
And no, I have zero vested interest in these sales, don't even know the...

Re: Slowing down as I press on gas

Automatic trans I guess?
Might be a clogged catalytic converter or horribly clogged EGR valve.
How has your gas mileage been up to now, and what type of driving do you do, city and highway...

Or are you not aware that pushing the AC control button will turn on that fan IF the AC is...

Otherwise: Have you...

Put it on 5 or 6 years ago and no issues since...
