Re: Manual window regulator compatability

I found that site to be a dead end. After calling each place that said they had a regulator some wouldn't sell it without the door, some didn't actually have it, and some wouldn't ship at all. I was...

Re: Ignition lock cylinder problem

Take one of those keys and hide it away and use it to make a new copy every year. Always keep a virgin to make fresh copies from.
Most cylinders fail because of old rounded off keys.

Re: dropping rpm at idle

Donít go randomly throwing parts at it. Certainly not tps and certainly not rear O2. Iíd start with checking manifold pressure with a gauge

Re: Parts availability

I was disappointed in car-parts.com. None of the places listed actually had the part.

Here is my old regulator.

Thanks. He was very nice but said he's sold every one he had. Apparently they're popular.

Parts pt2

Still trying to find a regulator. Not having much luck with car-parts.com. Most places the regulator is either bad or the door is too nice to break apart.

Are there any well known very large...

Re: Parts availability

Looks like I"m looking at $100 with shipping for a less worn out regulator. I don't think this will improve as the fleet ages.

Parts availability

About 12 years ago I got rid of my 77 Celica with 420,000 miles. The car ran fine but difficulty in getting parts made in an impractical daily driver. I'm starting to see the same with our S series....

Re: need help with power steering pump part #

Be aware that most aftermarket pumps are incredibly noisy. Like a jet engine. May be better to pick up a used pump at a junk yard. Will be quieter.
If you do fine an aftermarket one that doesnít...

Re: service light (wrench) no codes

Legally the mil light only comes on for emissions issues and those must produce an odb code. You donít need a tech 2 for that. Either your scanner is poor quality or old (Iíve seen this)....

Re: Anything else to try before I replace the transmission?

I'm not an auto transmission guy so those with autos may have better suggestions but have you tried replacing the fluid?

Re: Wanted -- Someone with tech2 in Dayton, OH area

And I'd have to look at the options in the tech2 but they don't let you pick arbitrary tire sizes. Only sizes that were offered from the factory in some country/configuration.

Re: Wanted -- Someone with tech2 in Dayton, OH area

I bought my son a 5 sp awd Imprezza wagon when he was in Columbus. I figured he'd donate it afterwards but when his company relocated him he shipped it to me as a bit of a joke. Its a nice car but...

Re: Wanted -- Someone with tech2 in Dayton, OH area

Re: 97 SW2 Manual RPM's rev up while Hwy driving in 5th gear.

I felt like this car was one of the easiest clutches to change. Transmission doesnít need to come out; just slide into back.
