Re: Magnetic tool retriever

Well ... I tried to retrieve it with one of those rare earth magnets (very strong) and a wire hanger. The magnet manage to get loose from the hanger and now is stuck inside the door for an eternity....

Re: Magnetic tool retriever

Purchased one similar to the image chaos posted. Was not able to get to it. Not really sure where it is - you can hear it fall occasionally from a high point to a low point when the door is...

Re: Magnetic tool retriever

Well, I found a $3 one and a $7 one at Harbor Freight. Gave them a call and they have both in stock (on the way home from work). I know the $7 one bends - not sure about the $3. If the $3 bends,...

Re: Save a Saturn from Sinking! Who's with me?

If you take an average, it will occur on the 28th of March, just before midnight. Except, you would expect it to occur during the warm part of the day, so March 29 at 2:30 PM. ;)

Re: Magnetic tool retriever

Thanks. I definitely need one that can FLEX. The opening at the top requires a 90 degree turn to reach the bottom. I'm just wondering if I need anything that powerful or if just about any of them...

Magnetic tool retriever

Looking for recommendations. One of the four nuts that holds the spoiler to the hatch door came loose and is now inside the hatch door. I can easily buy another nut and secure the spoiler, but...

Re: oil useage

I haven't added oil to the Saturn in over seven months. Of course, I sold it on 9/30/27. :arr:

I told the father/son who purchased it to be sure to keep an eye on the oil - it just depends on...

Re: Poor Fuel Economy compared to everyone else.

^^^ This.

If EVERY vehicle YOU drive is getting less than the expected MPG, you either have extremely bad luck or you have very bad driving habits.

The lady friend and I can get a HUGE swing...

Re: Modern Day Automatic Transmission

I don't know where you got those numbers from, but they aren't accurate. The bias is clearly evident. :D I don't have the 'turbo' model - I have the better MPG model and average about 36, combined...

I now have 45K on my first automatic transmission (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manumatic) car (2013 Mazda 3). You can hardly notice when it shifts gears. The only time I would definitely notice...

Re: Wheels 1 - Wire brush on alloy rims..

There you guys go again - worrying me about what Discount Tire (the place I normally go to get new tires installed) is going to do to my alloy wheels when the time comes (in the next few months). ...

Re: Is GM Stupid?

Agreed. I sold my Saturn after 16 years of great use and doubt I'll ever buy GM.

I always go back to the movie Gladiator when Maximus explains to his boss/owner (Proximo - who sees no reason why...

Re: She's Dead Jim

Why I don't lend my car to anyone that I'm not ready to part with, i.e., at least 10 years old and/or 150K miles on it.

Re: 185000 miles
