Re: 2004 Saturn Vue - Front drivers brakes smoking - HELP

Re: What is this super annoying piece on the driveshaft?

Just a shield to try and keep crap (sand, mud, etc) out of the carrier bearing.

Re: 06 Vue RDM

Is the whole rear end shot or just the RDM?
The torrent/equinox use the same RDM as the Vue. They are not terribly difficult to replace, but you will need the spline alignment tool to get the gears...

Re: Info for removing rear drums

Well for some reason I can't upload the second photo. The sawzall blade actually stays in place by itself because of the teeth. Just use a flat blade screw driver to turn the wheel.

Info for removing rear drums

For anyone that has gone to remove the rear drums on their Vue's you may have encountered the issue with the drum not coming off due to a lip that has formed on the edge. A sawzall blade can be used...

Re: Tires

I have some Nitto Motivo tires on my Vue RL, and while they grip and drive great in the dry, the wet traction could be a little better IMO. And they were advertised as a good tire for the rain...

Re: Best Battery for RL with power guzzling accesories

Optima yellow top D34/78.

The D34 could also be used because the Vue doesn't use the side posts anyway. The /78 has the side posts.

Re: Vues with Honda V6

Well, I'm going to be the guinea pig here and see how long the belts will truly last. From what I have read from a couple of mechanics on this site that service these vehicles regularly, the belt...

Re: Vue not starting/no turning over!

Have a look at your starter and ensure the braided power cable on the starter is not corroded. Mine did the exact same thing as yours and that's what it ended up being. There were like 3 or 4 small...

Re: Possible Redline in my future

My 06 RL doesn't have heated seats, it's an option.

I don't think odo roll rack is possible in these vehicles.

$4k seems like not too bad of a price to me provided it's in decent shape. Check...

Re: New member looking for a Vue

Just my honest opinion, stick with an 06 or 07. More refined and seem to be less issues in the later years (as there should be as they had been making them for like 4 years already!).

Re: Best Battery for RL with power guzzling accesories

While that is true, the deep cycle battery is the way to go because they can be drawn down and discharged many many times without effecting the life and capability of holding a charge.

It was actually not a bad day today so I snapped a pic of the battery tray. Not a whole lot to see. Basically you just carefully trim the ridge/lip on the RH side by the coolant overflow tank with a...

Re: Best Battery for RL with power guzzling accesories

Ok it stopped raining for a short time so I snapped a pic of my Optima. Couldn't get a good pic of the mod because I need aux lighting so that will have to be later.
